"The truth is that people will never find two preppers that are exactly alike"
My concerns are of a possible economic/financial collapse and the consequences afterwards. (IAW)

No the world will not end on any in day in 2012.
It will however, start down that path on 1 Jan 2013 when Obamacare and the tax hikes kick in.
It would seem that the Mayans were off by only 12 days.
Not bad for an ancient culture.

As we approach the end of this year, millions of ordinary people around the world appear to have fallen for the myriad experts and self-styled prophets who continue to announce the impending end of the world either on the elegantly symmetric date of 12-12-12... Just my luck. The end of the world happens on my birthday.
By the way, I will be 12+12+12+12 on 12/12/12.
That's gotta mean something...or not.

What are all these people so concerned about? Our evil usurper's dictatorship and the rapid increase of liberal morons throughout the world.

Though no one knows the day or the hour of Jesus’s return to judge humankind, Christians always pray, “Even so come quickly, Lord Jesus!”

High levels of anxiety are symptomatic of the rapidly evolving global civilisation in which the population, energy consumption and debt are growing exponentially as indeed is their toxic fallout.
So we all get to be right for different reasons.
In reality it is usually never just one thing that does us in. It is several things coming at the same time.

I just watched a movie called “Melancholia” about a planet on a collision course with Earth. Beautifully filmed, with Kiefer Sutherland and Kirsten Dunst - recommended viewing.

On the bright side, we can drink plenty of egg nog and eat lots of Christmas cookies, pies and cakes. With the coming end of the world, no need to worry about cholesterol or gaining weight.
Also, run up those credit cards. Might as well!

I don't think there are more than a dozen Americans who believe the end of the world will come on 12/12/12 because of Mayan predictions.
People in the country are mostly prepping because of the coming economic collapse that is almost inevitable. Not comets, but riots are on the way.
