U.S. service member was killed in Sunday's rescue mission in Afghanistan that freed an American doctor kidnapped by the Taliban, the White House said.
"Our special operators in Afghanistan rescued an American citizen in a mission that was characteristic of the extraordinary courage, skill and patriotism that our troops show every day," the White House said in a statement.

A mission to rescue the American taxpayer should be next on the agenda.
It’s gettin’ deep in here. Election is over, slacker.
John 15:13
I feel great sorrow. May I ask what the doctor was doing in that part of the world?
What was [Dr. Dilip Joseph, the U.S. citizen rescued on Sunday, was abducted on Wednesday in the Sarobi district of Afghanistan’s Kabul province,] what was a civilian doing in in such a dangerous place in the first place....(we) the SEALS or some other military people seem to constantly be risking their lives and that of their men to rescue people like Dr. Joseph....Hillary never strays off the safe path.....
The Defense Department earlier said that no U.S. forces were killed.
They really need to work on their communications.
We will never know exactly what he was doing there...just like we never knew what was going on in Benghazi.
He was working with an ngo called Morning Star Deveolpment -
“Morning Star Development is a non-profit community and economic development organization committed to help the people of Afghanistan rebuild their country and their lives by offering practical hope and resources. We focus on bringing transformational change to the people of Afghanistan through sustainable economic and community development initiatives in the areas of health care, education, agriculture and small business development. We work through strategic partnerships to advance initiatives that improve the quality of life for Afghan people and provide opportunities for local capacity building.”

The truth comes out.. I guess someone OTHER than the news media and military let the cat out of the bag.
Glad that doctor was fiddling around on a humanitarian mission for an NGO. Liberals go on fun field trips to becomes friends with the enemy. Then they have to be rescued by our good kids.
And our good ones sometimes die to rescue them from their childish fantasy game.
That doctor should have been here in America. There are plenty of people here who are more deserving than those tribal savages. The reason the don’t have their own doctors is because of their backwards beliefs in the first place.
>> There are plenty of people here who are more deserving than those tribal savages.
Like the Obamacare voters?
No need to get smart about it with me sport. You are delusional if you think that a doctor, educated here, cannot find plenty of decent Americans who cannot afford some needed basic care. Recognizing that some Americans at the bottom of the pay scale skimp on medical care, is not advocating for Obamacare.
This doctor is giving away services for free to Afghan tribal savages (the enemy). And escaping his fantasy game gone wrong cost an American fighting man his life. So yes, it would have been much better for America if he would have done his pro bono work here, even for an Obam voter.
At least he wouldn’t get our soldiers killed.
Liberals driving around Afghanistan providing a fat kidnap target is utterly irresponsible.
And believe it or not, not every GOP voter is doing good. There are plenty of them that are more deserving of our volunteer efforts than those moslem Afghans.
Pipe down, sport. It was a joke.
What about Benghazi? Obama called the Seals to capture / kill Bin Laden and the Seals answered. The Seals called Obama to help them out in Benghazi and Obama hung up.
Thanks Lorianne,God Bless them and their Families.
