I remember my dad buying beer that looked like this a couple of times:

Yup. My father in-law used to drink generic beer. The guy was thrifty.

I don't think they make it anymore.

I visited my brother when he was a broke second lieutenant and he offered me a Kroger Cost Cutter beer. Yellow can, black lettering with a scissor printed on the can.

If I had ever tasted Moose pee I figured that would be the taste.

Me too. Drank it a time or two, myself.

All it was, was "Piels", rebranded. Or "No-branded", as the case might have been. I used to get the no-brand in those distinctive Piels bottles, just re-labeled.

Not really all that good, as I recall. But, there was Truth in Advertising, as there was no doubt it was certainly beer.
