PACOLET, SC (FOX Carolina) - Deputies said two women are accused of attacking a customer at a Li'l Cricket store in Pacolet who asked them to give her some space while checking out.
According to Spartanburg County deputies, it was all because the victim asked the women to give her some space while she entered the pin code for her debit card at the cash register.
"All I wanted was a little bit of privacy, I didn't know it would lead to a beatdown," said the victim, Amanda Parker.
On Monday afternoon Parker stopped into the Li'l Cricket on Pine Street in Pacolet, never knowing she'd need to be rushed to the hospital by the time she was through.
"The line was long, I stood and waited and those two women had been at the counter the whole time," said Parker.
Deputies said the two women had bought lottery tickets and stayed at the counter while other customers, including Parker, were being helped around them.
"I said, 'Can y'all give me some privacy? I'm fixing to use my debit card,'" said Parker. "They just got real hateful, 'Well we don't need your money.'"
Investigators said the two women were 80-year-old Mary Wannamaker and 63-year-old Myrtle Smith.
"I tried to be respectful, they were older women," said Parker. "They kept mouthing and mouthing and when I got ready to walk out the door, they spit on me."
The sheriff's office said that's when the situation escalated.

How did I know the ‘crowders’ were Amish? /s
Good Lord didn’t their mothers teach them better?
Li’l Cracker is more appropriate. LOL
They be empowered now, so you best not be dissin’ us.............or you gets the beatdown.
Dem’s muthas teach dem right. Whatcu wanna keep dat pin numer to yosef, MF’r?
my first thought ... though a bit more racist in the pronunciation of a resident of Niger.
and the sad truth is if I fight back I would be the one at fault....
I don’t know. These women are of an age where people even turned their backs to fill out a check at the grocery store. I don’t think there mothers would be proud of this trashy action (I mean really 63 and 80.....geeez)
“They be empowered now, so you best not be dissin us.............or you gets the beatdown.”
Yeah, and if’n dey had chillun, dey be look’n like FUBO, doncha know!
Gives new meaning to “Black Power.”
Were they Amish or not???!!
I’m sure deys bin gettin away wit dis fer years but dis time someone pushed back. Won’t be so bad. They prolly be gettin to see some of their chillun while in there.
In ghetto culture, being “dissed”, or disrespected, is a major offense. And the response to being dissed is often violent.
There is a LOT of Bad Craziness out there. It’s scary that a 60 and an 80 year old woman could be harboring such seething hatred and viciousness that they’re prepared to beat up another woman in a public place.
The expedient action, seeing that these women were hanging out at the checkout as they were, would be to walk on through, leaving the merchandise behind, and count Li’l Cricket as history. Let them chew on it.
Grandma zombies! A zombie is a zombie.
These two must be the mother and grandmother that Obama really wanted. And their ages are just right!
I’m starting a new club called STAL:
“Stop the Amish Libel”
Did they hit the jackpot?
Here's the photo from the link. You tell me...

Something similar happened to me a couple of weeks ago. I was in a drugstore checkout line behind some youngish woman (20s) and after she’d been waited on, I stepped up to the counter to use my debit card. She remained at my elbow, for some inexplicable reason. I wanted to avoid a conflict, so managed to angle my body in such a way as to keep my purchase private.
My transaction completed, she didn’t move aside as I left the counter and made my way out the store. I guess she was waiting for the next customer.
Another reason I always sign for my purchases instead of using the PIN.
Interesting that the victim actually struck the first blow.
They spit on her. That’s assault.
Hey, obama, holder and the justice department said these two will get a “get out of jail free” card, didn’t they?
Hey, we owe them a living. /sarc
Can't you see? Again, "the police acted stupidly." And again, 'Obama's/Holder's people' are profiled as criminal even when they are being 1st victimized and then trying to help.
Let me guess naaa that would make me racist /s
Were they Amish or not???!!
If Obama had a grandmother...
Saw the headline -
Saw the word ‘Atlanta’ -
Decided to come in and see if my racial radar was calibrated properly -
Yep, all lights read green.
Any wonder where today’s criminals come from? These are their teachers......
Someone got uppity.
When I finish a transaction at the checkout, I always step out of the way of the line so that I can put my receipt in my purse and pull out my keys. I can’t ever recall someone being in my way while I pay for my purchases. Maybe I’m just lucky or my preschooler scares them enough to make them keep a distance ;)
Low class ignorance has no expiration date...........
Perhaps, but the people exhibiting that behavior do!
Zero class like their messiah. Creepy. This is like horror movie characters. Old, nasty, evil zombies.
Was the trash trying to pick up whitey’s ATM code? People don’t usually crowd around people while they are using the ATM checkout machine. I would have just left the sale on the counter, told the cashier the ATM arrangement was insecure. I would have called the manager later and told him/her about the misbehavior in the store around the ATM.
No doubt the perps are simply reacting against the awful treatment they experienced when they were slaves. Oh, wait...
It just might turn out that this woman was right and an investigation might show that these two perps had done this before and were trying to get the "password" for her card as they had gotten passwords from others.
If the first teo “excuse me’s” dont work, I’ve stepped on their feet and bumped into them when they are way too close to me and the credit card machine..most get the hint. Maybe I’ll expect a beat down someday.
