Ping. Video is worthwhile. We need lots more of this, and lots less of what we have running most of our cities.

I didn’t see the video, but the biggest factor was a few large cities were forced by a Democratic governor to have unions. The new Republican governor rescinded that stupid law and viola! Dewy is not the sharpest knife in the draw but the citizens keep him on a short leash.

Well, let’s not get carried away with Dewey’s virtues. He’s still a big supporter of the Tulsa Metro Chamber which is a group dedicated to spending taxpayer money on grandiose schemes (building condos and restaurants in the middle of the Arkansas River) and so-called economic development (the kind of Soviet 5-year plans that Republicans embrace).

Tulsa, like every city and town in the US, needs to return government to its proper role - public safety and maintaining and improving the roads. Instead, every burg has at least one employee who gets to travel and wine and dine business people in an attempt to bribe them to relocate. Government should not be picking winners and losers in business. How the chamber-of-commerce types convinced people that they know how to plan a city and an economy better than the free market, is beyond me. It’s a racket and an expensive failure.
