Concern That Assad May Have Passed Some Chemical Weapons to Hizballah

There is growing concern that some of the chemical weapons the Assad regime has been pushing out of the Damascus area in the last few days were sent across the border to Hizballah strongholds in the Lebanese Beqaa Valley to keep them out of rebel hands. Syrian army officers who recently defected report that containers were last week removed from Syrian bases at Jabal Kalamon and loaded on vehicles camouflaged as commercial trucks. On the Lebanese side, the consignment is thought to have been split up and hidden at different Hizballah bases to make them harder to attack.

Israel’s US Ambassador Michael Oren, asked by a FOX TV interviewer Saturday Dec. 8, if he could confirm this, said he could not, but warned that any evidence of chemical weapons being passed from the Assad regime to extremist groups like Hizballah would be a "game-changer," and a "red line" for Israel. "We have a very clear red line about those chemical weapons passing into the wrong hands. Can you imagine if Hizballah and its 70,000 rockets would get its hands on chemical weapons? That could kill thousands of people." Deputy Prime Minister Moshe Yaalon on he other hand saw no indication Sunday that Syria was planning to use chemical weapons against Israel. He refrained from going into any of the three possible perils presented by the regime in Damascus as it finds itself in a knife-edge situation:

1. Syria’s chemical weapons are deployed in at least five air force bases, with evidence of preparations to use them, as confirmed by British Foreign Secretary William Hague Saturday, Dec. 8.

US military sources explained early Monday, Dec. 10, that the nerve gas sarin is effective up to 60 days after its precursor chemicals are mixed. Placing the weaponized material in close proximity to warplanes indicates an intention within that timeline to drop the poison gas bombs from the air. After that, sarin must be destroyed in controlled conditions lest its poisons escape into the environment. No one knows if the Syrians have the necessary scientific manpower to take responsibility for this process. 2. The battle around Al Safira, site of Syria’s biggest chemical weapons store and Scud D missiles fitted with chemical warheads, is fierce and fluid: the base changes hands every few hours in heavy fighting between Syria army and rebel forces. Saturday, the base’s capture by the rebels triggered a warning from the Assad regime against throwing chemical weapons into the battle. Sunday, Al Safira was recaptured, but the rebels are sweeping through the surrounding villages and closing in on three sides. For now, Syrian forces control the road connecting Al Safira to Aleppo, but the rebels have seized parts of Sheikh Suleiman, the biggest air base near that city, and are getting close to that highway. Its fall would snap shut the rebel siege on Al Safira.

Control of Al Safira would place the big chemical weapons stores in the hands of rebel forces in that sector, many of whom belong to Jabhat al-Nusra, the roof organization of the al Qaeda elements fighting in Syria against the Assad regime.

3. In the estimate of Western and Israeli intelligence agencies, Assad has already directed his troops fighting in and around Damascus to use chemical weapons if the rebels get near to seizing any part of Damascus international airport.

Assad May Have Passed Some Chemical Weapons to Hizballah

Obama, so concerned about Israel's safety, is saddened by this unexpected event.

Hmmm...The perceived threat that assad MAY use chemical weapons and MAY give them to an islamic terror group is enough justification to go to war when commander zero is in the White House but when GW was President and saddam actually used chemical weapons, armed islamist terror groups, actually attacked the US and our interests and threatened to give wmds to said gangs that WASN'T justification.

Okay, got it.

That is certainly a possibility.

These "Arab Spring Rebels" are a conglomeration of Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda, and smaller radical groups of several Muslim sects with only a few things in common.

They all hate Israel, Jews, Christians and the United States, and all have a more violent intent with less restraint toward the west.

They will fight among themselves over the command pecking order of the coalition that forms against the west, but form it will, now that Zer0 has destroyed the restraint of isolated Islamic strongmen, by killing them and the limited but critical stability they provided.

I thought Obama( not' we the people ' that's for sure) is arming the FSA, Free Syrian Army. I'm not an Alex jones nut but since You Tube and other sites have linked then deleted this link, well would you want to have your tax money allied with this?

Please see video( warning gross) of child Free Syrian Army, behead man, VERY GRAPHIC!

If Obama is financing and sending F-16's to Morsi's Muzzard b-Hood, financing and giving aide to the FSA and worse, well, that means we are anti-Israel, and anti- Christian and pro-savage. In a real sense this means our American WH/government is pro terrorist.

Oh my, I mean that. I need to read parts one and two but it's really what I or how I'm thinking about all this and it's all written out and proven? I've no words, no words at all. Astounding?Audacity?

Can only hope people catch on if not too late, I pray but right now I've no idea how to pray for America when I may be praying to further an agenda I absolutely hate. And i hate liars and KNOW we're being lied to.

This will be biblical in scope; I have no idea when but it's danged scary. Thanks. I wish there was some silver lining, but thank-you all the same. I suppose like you and others we're getting the best news from other countries, and that includes Russia.

Well the only good news is that all this Islamic Terrorist stuff is not the really bad news. And no, you do not want to know the really bad news. This terrorist backing world war with East Asia is just a distraction for the really bad news.

Roger that. I understand the bad news is closer to home. Sadly, it’s been my hobby with international news and the Middle East. Now, it’s not so “fun” anymore. Again, thanks, I found parts one and two and have bookmarked.

Now that you bring it up, there may be really bad news, really really bad news and yet possibly there might be really really really bad news. Thinking of running an end of the year sale the last two weeks. Will go something like this

End of the World Sale

You Will Never See These Prices Again

Its looking like that may be true on multiple levels. Now that you bring up the local angle.

Later.

Okay, Much of this we can do nothing anyway. So I pray, but yes, agreed, both locally, state, and country wide and internationally I just wonder when the proverbial pile of s*** is going to hit the fan in a real big way. God bless and again thanks for the great article.

Al-Qaeda and the Moslem Brotherhood are both part of the same Moslem sect -- Sunnis, as are the rest of the "Arab Spring" rebels. The real "spring" was when the Shias in Iran rose up against Ahmedinejad, but Obama did nothing

Al-Qaeda and the Moslem Brotherhood are both part of the same Moslem sect -- Sunnis...

True, the MB tried to divorce it's self from it's rightful reputation of violent terrorist murderers, deceitfully "renounced" violence, and spun off Al-Qaeda for validation.

They continued to attempt to, and successfully assassinate Arab national leaders, thus the Egyptian Presidents and Assad family came down hard on the whole of MB. Obama fixed that.

...as are the rest of the "Arab Spring" rebels.

There seems to be a lot more than Sunni's and MB loyalists looking for power. In socialist societies they would be called Useful Idiots.

The real "spring" was when the Shias in Iran rose up against Ahmedinejad,

True.

but Obama did nothing.

Surprise, surprise.
