My comment was related to some threads which postulated that once a burglar is subdued and is completely at your mercy, it is OK to then kill him.

Please show links to those threads. I have never seen a thread on FR in which FReepers endorsed killing a burglary suspect as they lay helpless on the ground.

Post 99 on that thread is a particularly good example of the “logic” some were using.

Do a search about the Pharmacist that was convicted of murder for killing an kid who tried to rob him. He shot the kid in the head, knocking him out. He then turned his back on the unconscious perp to get another gun then came back to shoot him dead while he laid there helpless. A number of people did not think he should have been convicted of anything, but one person in particular (Red in Blue PA) was adamant that murderer should have been given a medal and a ticker tape parade.
