Bob Woodward: ‘There’s a civil war in the Democratic Party’
Daily Caller ^ | December 12, 2012

On “CBS This Morning” on Wednesday, Washington Post associate editor Bob Woodward highlighted the internal struggles of the Democratic Party in the ongoing effort to avert the fiscal cliff.

Woodward, the author of “The Price of Politics,” reminded viewers that President Barack Obama in particular is at odds with Nancy Pelosi and some Democrats in the House.

“[Obama] is muscling his way through this,” Woodward said. “He has to. He has to lead his group. He’s got the problem of the civil war in the Republican Party. There’s a civil war in the Democratic Party. You had Nancy Pelosi on, saying, ‘Oh, we’re not going to change the eligibility age for Medicare.’ And down at the White House, they very much want to do that.”

“CBS This Morning” co-host Norah O’Donnell said it’s difficult to imagine Speaker of the House John Boehner finding common ground with the president.

“Well, it’s a necessity,” Woodward said. “And they realize this is going to dump on everyone. You know, people are sick out in the public saying, ‘You know, why can’t they work together?’ The numbers in a sense don’t matter that much. Just fix this and put the country on the trajectory that’s sanity.”

Why is Bob Woodward all over like horsesh#t these days?

He still thinks Watergate was huge, when BenghaziGate is far more improtant and will bring the President and many leaders if any reporter had the testicular fortitude to pursue it.

Woodward was a no talent tool used to bring down Nixon, who the left hated since the Alger Hiss days.

And he still is.

Can't fix it if you don't understand the numbers. Voters are idiots.

You can't put the country on a sane trajectory when you reelect a MARXIST!

Oh Boo-Hoo Nancy. I guess if the Medicare age goes up, I’ll have to wait until 67 not to get my don’t-really-exist-benefits instead of 65.

Like I’d even sign up for it.

This is stupid, Bob, because one side is right and the other side is wrong. No one is going to fix anything because the guy you voted for doesn’t want to and, at this late date, we’re out of time.

“...if they want your guns they will come and get them,”

You may be right but I would NOT want to be on the squad they send out to do it.

Don't ask me how I know, but I know ..

"Fact is if they want to arrest you they will, if they want to try and convict you they will, if they want your guns they will come and get them, it is not 1950 anymore."

The problems only get worse WHEN the Republicans and Democrats start to “work together.” The last chance to pull out of this nose dive with a modicum of pain was two years ago and the Ryan plan. Now total collapse IS the final and only solution. . .so the question isn’t whether or not we will collapse. . the question is WHEN we collapse, will there be enough good citizens with the will to rebuild the nation around our founding ideals. Sadly, the lesson of history says it probably won’t happen. . if it does. . it will be a first.
