Anti-gun state senator punishes law-abiding Oregonians for Clackamas shooting(OR)
Gun Rights Examiner ^ | 12 December, 2012 | David Codrea

Posted on 12/12/2012 5:12:22 PM PST by marktwain

In the immediate aftermath of yesterday's Clackamas Town Center incident, where a criminal with a stolen gun opened fire on holiday shoppers in a reported “No Guns” zone, State Senator Ginny Burdick has introduced a bill to keep law-abiding Oregon gun owners from possessing standard capacity ammunition magazines for semi-automatic firearms, Oregon Firearms Federation reported today in a membership alert.

“As we predicted, the anti-gun bills are starting to show up in Salem,” OFF Executive Director Kevin Starrett informed Beaver State gun owners. “The first one by (of course) Ginny Burdick bans the 'transfer' of magazines that can hold over 10 rounds.

“This bill (and no doubt others) was drafted some time ago and we were expecting to see it when the session began,” the alert continued. “But Burdick has, not surprisingly, decided to use the tragic murders at Clackamas Town Center to market her bill.”

A communication forwarded by Starrett to Gun Rights Examiner confirms this.

“This terrifying situation exemplifies the danger of large capacity magazines in our community,” Burdick emailed fellow legislators today seeking co-sponsorship for her bill. “In the wake of yesterday’s tragedy, I wanted to share with you a bill I’ve had drafted for pre-session filing for the 2013 Session.

“LC 1031 (attached) creates a crime of knowingly selling or transferring a large capacity magazine,” she continued. “A large capacity magazine is defined as ‘ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition.’”

Naturally, she added an exemption Gun Rights Examiner readers familiar with the “Only Ones” files would expect.

“The concept creates an exception for law enforcement and military personnel,” Burdick announced.

How about shunning those legislators who violate their oaths of office?

I wonder if these guys are feed a bunch of crap from anti-gun supporters hoping they will snap and do this - only to further the agenda of banning all firearms in the U.S. - but then again — that sounds like a conspiracy — and that never happens...

MSM employees say the shooter wore a "hockey-like face mask;" does that mean like this?

If so that means this is more of dirty tricks the skid marks on Journalism's shorts ("reporters") used when describing the 1960s and 1970s "anti-war" demonstrators' "red, blue, and yellow protest banners." Those were Viet Cong flags.

There is a much simpler explanation that functions the same way. Have the “progressive” MSM go into a feeding frenzy with each of these shootings. They create anti-heros out of these shooters, thereby giving every depressed and suicidal soul a chance to go out in blaze of glory, all the more exacerbated by the adulation “fame” in our society, at any cost, worth any price.

These two together serve exactly the same function.

Most of these mass shootings can be laid directly on the doorstep of the MSM.

This (ahem) woman, was on the boards of The Nature Conservancy, Oregon Chapter of NARAL, and was the CO-AUTHOR of the “Indoor Clean Air Bill”, also known as your neighbor is killing you with his smoking! Her State Senatorial bio states at the end, “that she is owned by three cats”.

She is another anti-gun nutter from Oregon!! And YES, she DID swear an oath, and YES, she is liable for it!

Oregon doesn’t have ‘gun free’ zones where a business can put up a sign to legally forbid firearms.

For all those who wish to send this person a Christmas Card, here goes:

State Senator Ginny Burdick
900 Court St. NE S-213
Salem, OR 97301

I hope that she gets a ‘gazillion’ from all of us who enjoy the 2nd Amendment.

Long Live The Republic!

‘ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition.’

Typical Poor definition—

My Browning stock fed .22 holds more than 10 rounds; and some .22 levers do too.

Actually, any gun that does not cease functioning at 10 rounds fired has:”...capacity to accept more than 10 rounds of ammunition.”

Say what you will about the carrion feeder anti-Second Amendment bigots, you’ve got to admit they sometimes show at murder scenes before the first ambulance.

You've given me an idea. We need to commission a bunch of vulture sculptures, something along the lines of this...

This shooting incident's Buzzie goes to OR State Senator Ginny Burdick.

...and rename them the "Buzzie Awards." We would of course, need a panel of judges, and we could award them to the politician or bureaucrat who most distinguishes him or herself by exploiting any tragedy above and beyond the call of their fellow vultures. Judging criteria might include how rapidly they jump in front of a camera, how ridiculous their statements are, etc.

I wish that it were so! If it were, much of the time they would be extolling the virtues of the Second Amendment, when a citizen stopped a crime.

But they do not do that. Their "progressive" agenda trumps profits every time. It is a big reason that they are dying and "conservative" news outlets are thriving.

I’m kinda on the fence about whether or not the conservative news outlets are actually “accomplishing” anything — much like conservatives in congress — they seem to say what we “think” they should say and act as we “expect” them to act — but nothing changes...it gets worst.

Even when Fox News is the ONLY outlet talking about the corruption of this administration and the other items that are driving a path toward global collectivism and national socialism...the hammer and cycle keep hammering and cutting away freedoms and capitalism...

Maybe I’m crazy and thinking too much into — it just seems like everyone is playing their part in this game and FREEDOM is the one that’s going to lose...
