Caught Up In Violence, Michigan Style

12-12-12 I joined a handful of people who supported Right to Work Legislation in Lansing yesterday. While the union goons circled the AFP tent like a pack of hyenas all morning, I ventured out with my friend Wendy, and videotaped the crowds as they swelled from a few hundred at 8 AM to at least 15,000 by 11:30AM. We also spent considerable time observing the planned events that culminated in a near riot.

Between 8 and 9, the union leadership directed the protestors to kick Michigan Americans for Prosperity people off the Capitol's front steps, which the AFP had reserved, and destroy their banner. Jimmy "the hit man" Hoffa revved up the crowds midmorning by congratulating them for that thuggery, then shouted, "This is OUR state, we OWN Michigan!" I believe it was about then that one of the AFP tents was pulled down.

Goonish agitators began to gather at the entrance of the remaining AFP tent, and the crowd pressed forward into the few AFP men and union "captains" who were trying to maintain the peace. Then Steven Crowder arrived. As soon as he attempted to talk to the protestors, the captains formed a wall between him and those he was trying to engage. They loudly announced he was a youtube provocateur, and warned the crowd to not talk to him, while leaning back into him. Most of the mob stared blankly in non-recognition, and generally ignored Crowder for the next hour or so.

About 20 minutes before the tent was ripped down, the sizable crowd facing the entrance and surrounding the tent began to take on the characteristics of mob like behavior. Beating plastic buckets with wooden spoons they chanted, "Fuck this tent!" , "Pull it down!", "Snyder is a dick!", plain old "Bull-shit!" and something along the line of, "This is what democracy looks like!"

In reviewing the videotape, I noticed something weird; the rhythmic bucket beating quickened it's pace as the mob got more restless. My son, a videographer, was standing in front of this mess of humanity when an AFP volunteer got tired of being hit with a sign, and grabbed it in his hand. Suddenly, the mob surged forward amidst a staccato bucket drumming, and a fight broke out, shoving my son into the tent where he attempted to film union members who had breached the walls and were busy tipping over tables. He noticed a man wearing an "anonymous" mask.

At that point, I was outside filming, but trying to get in to rendezvous with my son. The union men sneeringly let me through. People were not completely panicked, but it was clear we had to get out of the tent. As we exited out the back, my son filming all the way, protestors were dismantling it. They laughed and jeered as we walked to a safe spot beyond the perimeter.

I immediately phoned 911 and begged them to send officers. As a few people stood up beneath the shroud of the tent, struggling to escape, the mob surged again, and laughed uproariously. AFP's Scott Hagerstrom stood on some wreckage and shouted for order. He was grabbed from behind and nearly lost his footing. Shortly afterward, mounted police arrived to leisurely make their way across the collapsed tent. I don't believe anyone was arrested.

It was my general observation that the vast majority of the protestors spread around the Capitol were satisfied with chanting and treating the demonstration like a festival, and were possibly not aware, at the time, of the wonton destruction and fear caused by their brethren. The thought that 15,000 human beings wouldn't care if someone was trampled as long as their union could own the state, is too repulsive for me to contemplate.

One guy accused me of being an "empty tenter", and claimed that I would try to make the unions look bad by selectively editing my video. In a short space I've done my best to write a clear and honest account of my experience yesterday, and quite a bit of video is available on my twitter feed, @6foot2inhiheels. Endless creative editing could not possibly make the actions of these people look worse, and it certainly would be hard to make them appear better, which would explain the news blackout. Money shots start after 6:00 in the above video.

What you witnessed, are the thugs for “labor allocation.” They envision that, they will be the recipients of such, including pay scales set by a national labor-economic directorate.

What usually happens, is that very quickly, and just before that union-utopia is reached, the organization for it, is collapsed and consumed by the national labor-economic directorate, which promptly enforces the elimination of the former union stewards, while recruiting the thugs into a new, national political action army.

Of course, I’m describing the path of the unions in countries that transit to crony-capitalism, thence fascism, then nationalizing socialization ... then national socialism.

There are a variety of those, from Hitler’s German to Stalin’s Russia -— *all* nationalizing socialist (the phase that preaches “social and economic justice, in order to attain power), then national socialist (the phase that achieves power and enforces consolidation).

That is the path of labor unions and leftists and too many liberals who have sought to gain from association with and supporting same.

The defense for “collective bargaining” by the union leadership? That is destroyed by the new leadership, and it is why the former union stewards who envisioned their own rise in the ranks, are eliminated.

It’s all there, in the history of the 3rd Reich, which apparently we had to suffer thru to have these facts pounded into the historical record for all to see.

Yet that is lost upon the left, the unions, and their politicos, who imagine yet again, that they will overcome the mistakes of their ... nature.

In the end, the NAZI’s are an organization of bullies and thugs; they are organized crime; they are organized terrorists.

They spread fear upon the land, and people give up quite a lot of their freedom to buy time and hope that things will change.

The nationalizing socialist bullies rely upon a lack of organization that may resist them, and they rely upon government agents in collusion with them ... as all seek position and power in the dark regime.

It was evil in Germany. It was evil in the Soviet Union. It has been evil in Red China and Cuba. It is evil in North Korea. It is evil in areas to the east that are set upon the destruction of Israel.

In each case, the governing powers have nearly unlimited power over people, and now, wherever you find a reach for such power, evil is lurking about, trying to defeat freedom, liberty, and the human spirit that are gifts from God.

We must resist the designs of evil and its forces.

I recognized one of the ‘pit bulls’ in the group - the short fellow - by his behavior. I’ve seen that behavior before; he was looking for opportunity to strike.

He does not have the courage to act alone. Most in that group of 10 or so men, did not have the courage, but they kept edging toward the tent.

It was no different than gang behavior, and very similar to how dogs will behave in a pack, making appearances of “Oh, oops, sorry ...” but their eyes flicking toward the meat they are really after.

It was their animalism, and that particularly of a couple of the fellows in your video, that caught my eye.

At first, a person watching might wonder, from where in the crowd, was the strike to come? Yet I could spot the short fellow immediately -— he was the most anxious and obvious to see the threshold of his fellow animals, upon which they would attack.

I thought that your courage under fire was considerable. I was also intrigued by your sense of what was going to happen.

Too many people get wrapped up in the liberal-media-taught “hair rising on the back of your ...” which is when a lot of people who subscribe to that, *miss* spotting the real animal(s).

You could tell.

I’m sorry to say it, but sometimes you have to be exposed to the animals, to verfiy and cement the training you are under-going, on how to spot them and defend yourself *by understanding and accepting that they are searching for a moment, some vulnerability, at which point they will simply abandon their humanity ... and attack.*

That moment, that desire of theirs, to selectively turn on / turn off, their humanity -— that *talent* -— is a game of flirting with evil, that they think is acceptable behavior. A lot of leftists and too many liberals, pat each other on the back, and mutually support that behavior.

It’s why the left claims that “you” can reason with bad people; because the left *knows* that *it* is selectively switching back and forth between being human and being an animal.

They are really telling us, that they can be reached out to, but experience keeps telling us that they cannot be relied upon to respond *for the good* and abandon their animal-selector-switch.

When Liberals Attack

A lot of people do not want to deal with it; they do not want to take up the call of duty to defend against it.

They did not take up their duty to thwart the NAZI’s in Germany of the 1930’s. They simply sat in fear.

We are stuck in that climate, here, now. Instead of being able to be a part of history at the end of the fight, we are in the part leading into the fight, and you must do your duty, despite the odds of our being there at the finish.

There were a lot of “enlightened” people in Germany, who calculated that Hitler was a phenomenon that they could control, right on up to the moment that Hitler passed a brief inspection by Hindenburg.

It’s the same moment of granting power to Obama, that Obama now seeks - extra-Constitutional power.

The puzzle that was so commonly spoken of, when I was a kid, when people wondered *a lot,* How could the German people have let this happen? ... is being answered, now.

Too many people failed to stand up and resist.

We only learned later, of the relatively few who did stand up, but were lost.

I expect that most of us will not be remembered. It is daunting to be so alone, trying to defend liberty, now.

Yet there you were.
