Some are issuing a special dividend before the end of the year. Basically its a dividend that is one time only and is in a larger than normal amount in order to avoid the on coming taxes.
Exactly so. There are lots of people doing the same things in private companies as well. Even borrowing against future earnings to pay dividends now while taxes are lower.
