That will boost sales. I really want to hurl my family along the road at 70 mph in a heavy metal and plastic box assembled by drunks.
If you think of them as a partner in supplying labor for a business to pursue profit, they have failed.
They have failed to deal with the 5% or 10% that are the problem children in their merry band of travelers.
So, the Million Dollar question is will they finally deal with these types that may need help, aka 12 step programs, a recovery facility etc. which would require them to change their business model to be a partner in business, not enabler of a host of bad behaviors within their "family".
Notice I am not holding my breath...
They were not just drinking. They were drinking and smoking pot on their lunch hour then returning to work to make cars for Chrysler.
The arbitrator then looks at you with a blank look on his face and says that he doesn't see enough proof and rules against you.
As I predicted the day this story initially broke.
Like hell I’d have any confidence in any product made by boozers on the job, not to mention a bunch of degenerate dopeheads. Figures the union would stand by their fellow scum.
I recall years ago of learning of someone that bought a new car and it had a rattle in the door. After a long time they decided to put speakers in the door. When they took the liner off the inside they found a beer bottle in the inside of the door. I wasn’t there...just a story.

Well, at least we don’t have to buy their $h!tty products. Yet.
I have read a few stories about this case recently and none of them mention they were awarded BACK PAY for the 13 months they were off, which is ABSOLUTE in all union Contracts.
30 years ago in an alcohol school for DUI one of the guys was a truck driver for Rocketdyne, delivering rocket fuel, he got caught drinking on the job in a bar in Palmdale, they fired him, 1 year later he was reinstated for Wrongfull Termination, because ALCOHOLISM is listed Officially as a DISEASE, and He Received Full Back Pay for the entire Year. ALL UNION CONTRACTS have that clause.
Union right to booze at work.
Guess I’m too old fashioned...I remember when any factory of any size had a selection of bars right outside the factory gates for the employees to flock to during lunch...
The article says this was on company time when in fact, it was the employees unpaid time...
Last company I worked for often had people from Germany come over for one reason or another...Their crates of beer always showed up before they did...And were kept in the shop...
I’m not too concerned about someone having a beer...How many of the management groups still have their Martini lunches???
The only people, on this site, that should be upset are the IDIOTS that bought a UAW vehicle. They have been warned, time and time again, that buying a union-made vehicle is, essentially, supporting people that HATE this country and could care less about the quality of their product.
But those FReepers took the Koolaid anyway...now they get to see just who was involved in building their cars.
