Boehner appears to ease opposition to raising taxes on the wealthy

Emergency compromise could allow for a short-term solution to avoid fiscal cliff as Congress prepares to break for Christmas

House speaker John Boehner has left open the door for a quick bill that would halt tax increases for the vast majority of Americans on January 1.

Boehner twice ducked questions from reporters during a press conference on Capitol Hill on Thursday about whether he was prepared to allow a vote on a bill that would see the top 2% of the country's richest face tax rises but exempt the remaining 98%.

With just over two weeks left until the country goes over the so-called fiscal cliff, the House or Representatives broke up until next week with no deal in place. The Democratic leader in the House, Nancy Pelosi, said if a deal is not reached this week or early next week at the latest, there will be no chance of securing the necessary legislation in time.

No wonder the American people hold the GOP resonsible
for the cliff. Bonehead is out front everyday. He is way
over exposed and the public ONLY see him floundering.
No wonder Americans associate the cliff with the GOP.

Of course, he cave and call it “postponing” it until they can get together without all the pressure. And Boner needs to get home. There are a few bottles of booze under the tree with his name on them.

I just heard on the radio that 76% of Americans want to raise taxes on the wealthy. Until they lose their jobs I guess.

“The man has no spine. And he is severely lacking in testosterone.”

An absolute requirement in today’s Republican Party.

He’s backed into a corner. Obama wants him to MAN UP as much as you do. Tax increases for everyone mean more money and more spending. Obama doesn’t give a damn about the economy or the Country. Boehner can negotiate across the board tax cuts in 3 months when the debt ceiling comes up...he’ll have a lot more leverage then. It’ll be Obama’s turn in the corner.

Let me tell you what is happening. Boo Hoo Boehner has already caved. Yesterday he was acting as if he hadn’t caved to make it look like he had done all he could do.Even Kantor was lying for him. “We tried. We failed but it is for the good of the country” Now, so you wont be shocked , he will raise taxes in exchange for absolutely no spending cuts!! Yes, I know but let me help you to your feet. He will say “ The Demorats have agreed to resolve spending cuts by the debt ceiling vote in March” What a sad piece of work. We must drive this weakness out of our party.

There is no tax increase on the wealthy. Only the middle class and poor.

Like the Grand Bargain on the debt limit he negoiated two years ago, which they are all wanting to change now?

And why does Bonehead always have to wait until the lame duck
congress to pass all the Grand Bargains.

Get real. Look at Boneheads history to predict what he will do.

If the GOP doesn’t like the Grand Bargain now, why did they
like the Grand Bargain (Debt Limit) two years ago?

Liberally speaking they have it all worked out, RINO-LY, and want to make it look like a last minute compromise.

Never believe what a politician says, just watch what they do. They all lie.
