DENVER - Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said "the time is right" for state lawmakers to consider gun control measures, offering his firmest stance on the issue nearly five months after the Aurora movie theater massacre shocked the nation.
In an interview with The Associated Press, Hickenlooper DENVER - Colorado Governor John Hickenlooper said "the time is right" for state lawmakers to consider gun control measures, offering his firmest stance on the issue nearly five months after the Aurora movie theater massacre shocked the nation. said enough time has passed since the tragedy and that the legislative session in January would be an appropriate time to take up a debate gun control measures.
I wanted to have at least a couple of months off after the shooting in Aurora to let people process and grieve and get a little space, but ... I think now is the time, Hickenlooper said.
I saw beeb=n and thought that was funny enough to leave up.
Anyway, Chickenpooper has ' not been available for comment' since issuing this statement.
Hey Loopy! Can this wait until after we hit the bottom of Barry’s “fiscal cliff” and the flames have been put out? Jughead! Your Nazi style “gun confiscation” is really not at the top of everyone’s list right now. Why don’t you and your hippie pals grab a bag of weed and take your boyfriends skiing. We’ll get back to you once we get the important stuff figured out.
As a Colorado native, born and bred (though one who hasn’t lived there in a decade) I’d like to think Hickenlooper is misreading Colorado voters on this matter. They may like Obama and weed but the Colorado I grew up in liked their guns as well. Even Columbine didn’t change this.
Sounds like its time to talk impeachment....
Colorado has been usurped by Californians . We are moving back to Texas next year .
I take it this guy MUST be a D as the ‘R’ word was not liberally spread throughout this revealing story.
I know my cynicism runs amok at times, but the little bit I had seen/heard on the news about this incident the readers seem to be ‘mad’ there wasn’t more carnage...They exploited the deed etc but when they ‘had’ to say 3 dead including the perp, I almost had the impression they didn’t think it was ‘enough’.
Forget it, Chickenpooper! Gun control don’t go ‘round here.
Looks like the governor must be trying to get the legislature to join him in a political suicide pact. Is this his last term as governor or something?
I guess the air is too thin up there in Denver. Makes one talk stupidly. No? That’s just natural for John?
Sorry!
I think he actually has one more term.
Not now... lol
I would be happy if those folks who moved to Colorado from California and the East Coast pack up and move away and take their liberalism with them. Hickenlooper will be a one-term governor if he pushes for gun control.
I'd like to see my friend Brian DelGrosso take him on.
Tell us more about your friend Brian DelGrosso, and does he live here in Colorado?
Time for Colorado to start an honest discussion on
handing Hickenloopy his walking papers. When ever a
polly starts mouthbreathing their ruminations about
needing more gun control it’s a sure sign they need to
be given the boot.....IMMEDIATELY.
They still voted to close the “gun show loophole” while I was living in Denver. Prop 22 or 23 IIRC. Best gun show I ever went to. Hit it every time it came to town, 5 years in a row.
This is typical liberal overreach. There is no doubt that a changing of the speaker of the house from McNulty to Mark Ferrandino (the out of the closet homo) means that the libs are determined to force uncivil unions on Colorado. They feel emboldened and are living on a power high. Colorado has been lost in lib-ville in the past, I remeber the days of Governor Lamb, Senator Heart and Senator Wirth, Pat Schroeder and company. This too will end, but so might liberty, justice and the America I used to know.
Actually, it’s time to discuss politician control.
Cool guy, wears shorts when it's below zero.
Here's a podcast of a show he did on KFKA a few weeks ago.
