It wasn’t probably necessary to bring race into it, but it’s an absolutely valid point. There appears to be a class of people who make good money working election after election whether they win or lose. They’re the “long knives” that destroyed all of Romney’s competition starting with Palin in order to keep their gravy train on the rails. The Tea Party and true conservatives and libertarians are a bigger threat to them than the Democrats are. Step one in restoring the Constitution is to retire these people.

He’s not talking about white boys - he’s talking about consultants, and they are the curse of the Republican party.

If you had ever spent time in a Republican campaign, you would see a common thread - they go out and hire a consultant and then put all their trust in these buffoons.

These clowns come at a high price, but live in closed circles far removed from real voters and their concerns. And they get paid not based on a flat fee or on a success criteria, but on a percentage commission of the money spent.

For example, the guys running the TV advertising may get a 15% commission of all the money spent on TV commercials. Win or lose, they will get 15% of what is spent for TV ads. Does it matter to them what their candidate stands for? Hell no! They get rich on the flow of campaign money.

The Romney guy and his company who controlled the TV ads was incentivized to spend money and get 15% of it. Run commercials like crazy to burn that money, even if it was in the wrong area or with the wrong message. With over a hundred million spent for TV, that consult made out like a bandit.

The stupid consultant, Zak Moffatt,, who ran the digital campagn for emails and web fundraising got 15% of $62 million for sure-to-fail crap like Project ORCA.

Right now these consultants are advising Republicans to support amnesty,taxes on the rich, and whatever the media/punditry is telling Republicans to do, and will spend millions on the false message because they themselves really have no princilples, just greed for that campaign money. In fact, many of them work for candidates from BOTH parties.

Remember, these millionaire losers are getting rich off those $10 and $20 contributions a lot of average folks send in thinking they are getting a candidate who believes in their principles. Nope, it goes nto consultant pockets.

Until the Republicans get rid of these corrupt crooks, keep your money.

I’m thinking conservatives better allign with the Libertarians and pray that is even enough for a start. We are so fractured between a half dozen conservative candidates and one Libertarian that it’s exactly like driving a truck with seven wheels going a different direction. It means not only a sure and certain defeat, but we look like keystone cops.

One thing that I've come to realize is that the days when a new candidate could win in Iowa and New Hampshire and then emerge onto the national stage are probably older. If you think about it, in 2012, Romney went into the primaries as the leading candidate and came out. In 2008, Obama and Clinton went into the primaries as the leaders, and came out the same. On the GOP side, McCain was already the runner-up from 2000. When Bush won the nomination, he went into the primaries, the prohibitive favorite. Etc. Etc. So, I think you're absolutely right. We need to coalesce around someone very soon. Who though?

Sure its easy to beat up on the consultants but really they are irrelevant one way or the other when your candidates are not able to communicate, persuade and bring people to conservatism. The bigger problem is lack of strong candidates. Of course the MSM propaganda machine is a huge impediment but we first focus on things within our control.

If you take away the "little white boy" part, I'd agree 100% with what he said. I think that part was added to more people would read it with the headline. These consultants are largely a bunch of Bob Shrums. They are retreads who lost multiple times, sell out their client, and move on to the next gig. They get paid win or lose.

How many times does Ed Rollins get hired and he stabs his clients in the back? How many McCain clowns get hired? This Mitchell guy has a point.

Romney's inability to manage his campaign to avoid the obvious pitfall of self-deception and self-dealing raises questions about his vaunted ability as a manager.

It might be instructive to consider the Cuban missile crisis. After the Bay of Pigs, John F. Kennedy became very suspicious of the CIA. When the Cuban missile crisis came, he was suspicious of all the advice he was getting and became reliant on his brother as a trustworthy source. In the event that worked out. I am not advocating nepotism, but it seems to me elementary that someone as allegedly as sophisticated as Romney who had been running for president for five years would have alternative sources of data, polls and focus groups which might have told him a different story than that which he was being fed.

I remember posting several times my doubts about Romney laying back during the summer and playing rope a dope, my doubts about Romney's unwillingness to pursue Benghazi, overall, my doubts about Romney's reluctance to go after Obama as a socialist. But each time I also posted that I assume that Romney had "the best data that money could buy," the best polling data, and focus groups etc.

Never again should a Republican presidential candidate be solely reliant on one source of input. He should have competing firms presenting competing points of view. Much like the discussions the time of the Cuban missile crisis, proceedings to establish strategy and tactics should take on the flavor of an adversarial proceeding.

I understand that the focus of this thread will be that we have to run the Rinos out of town, a sentiment with which I am in full accord. But if we do not put in place a system we will end up with a new wave of insider dealing telling us what we want to hear.

We should be much more detailed in identifying the political and social thinking patterns of the pin heads who have wrecked the GOP rather than describing their bodies as to be the problem. They are brainwashed globalists, is my guess. My guess is that they are socially liberal and can’t or are afraid to say it so they try and pretend to be conservatives but they don’t have a clue as to what that means and what it is beyond what the Left says it is.

The GOP has been hollowed out and become soulless and passionless. They don’t beleive in the ideology of freedom anymore. They don’t beleive in love and families anymore. They don’t show honor and risk being human in front of the crowd. If they can’t mouth left wing liberal or conservative slogans, they are stiffled. Have nothing else that inspires them.

It’s good that the GOP is pro military. But being pro military is not being pro war. The US military used to mean constitutional freedom and now the GOP does not respect freedom anymore. They do not know the spirit of freedom.
