So really, the doctor visit is just government imposing an extra cost.
Of course, nothing stops a woman from seeing a doctor before starting birth control. This is about free choice.
Frankly, I think a LOT of prescription drugs should be OTC instead.
Depends on the method chosen. Like the depo shots are a 5 years usage tops for their life time. And if your doctor is doing their job there’s supposed to at least be a discussion once a year to make sure you’re not having side effects on your prescriptions. My wife has had reactions to at least 2 versions of the pill, that’s part of why it’s handy that it’s a prescription.
No, every woman does not get it. Many, many adverse side effects. Many risks.
