Hard to get the real totals since Roe v. Wade (not in the best interests of government ("public policy" = what government wants) or our popular culture.

Last time I looked, it was around 60 million abortions since 1972 - true infanticide.

Oh how sad! This is an awful list to read—I was stunned at the numbers in California alone.

I cannot fathom this level of killing of the unborn. Is our society so numb to LIFE that we condone this so readily? Where are the hearts that are shocked and stunned by this?

And, especially when today all across America our hearts are so sad at the terrible tragedy in Connecticut. Think of how many potential 5 & 6 yr olds could have been alive if they weren’t aborted and just a mere statistic on this list?

God forgive us...

Abortion data is always incomplete and not accurate. Reporting requirements differ and many numbers are estimated. Look at Washington DC for example and the enormous change in the data for 2008. That is probably incorrect.

Good post.

I long for a conservative on the national stage to ask the following in front of the cameras:

“Who gets to decide which unborn babies deserve the death penalty? What capital crime has an unborn baby committed that is worthy of capital punishment?”

Have them say it that way and make the libs defend their position.

Yesterday alone twice as many kids in CT were killed by their mothers and doctors as were shot in Sandy Hook Elementary.

No tears from the politicians??

Congratulations WY with the lowest rate of abortions. I declare you the center of civilization.

Great post, just makes me sick to read the chart. Looking for my state. Groan, hard to stomach.

Isaiah 1

"15 And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide mine eyes from you: yea, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear: your hands are full of blood.

16 Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil;"

I would wholeheartedly invite all to take a few minutes to read Isaiah 1

IMHO, what we've done, and what God calls us to do.

Psalm 118:24 "This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it."

Did ANYONE happen to notice that of all the states, the abortion rate went up fastest (between 2000-2008) in these two states:
1. Delaware
2. Connecticut ??????

In fact, the abortion rate went DOWN in 34 states + D.C.!

Between 2000 and 2008, the abortion rate only went up in
four Northeastern states (DE, CT, Maine, NH);
one eastern state (PA);
three Southern states (LA, GA, TN);
three Midwestern states (IA, SD, ND);
plus three Western states (NM, Alaska, Hawaii).
(With two of those western states -- Alaska & NM, the abortion rate, tho IS declining slightly since 2005).

(It stayed the same rate in Utah and Maryland)

In Connecticut, the abortion rate went up 3.5% since 2000.

And the states MOST hostile to the pre-born abortion %-wise...not overall carnage-wise due to heavier populations -- like California, for example...even though in some of states the abortion rate is going down???

1. Delaware
2. New York
3. New Jersey
4. D.C. -- and Maryland
5. Alaska
6. Florida
7. Nevada
8. Connecticut

So, East Coasters...look at that hostility to the Sanctity of Life you lead the nation in!!!!

The womb is designed to be a generally "safe" haven; yet it is the MOST DANGEROUS PLACE ON EARTH TO LIVE! More than 40% in many countries don't make it out alive...even though their residency period there is so short!

If the womb is the most hostile place to be...

...especially in states like...
...Connecticut & its surrounding regions of NY/NJ...
...and is even infecting PA, which had saw a drop in abortions 'tween 2000-2005...
...while other Eastern states like Delaware, Maine and NH are also rising in dismembering the pre-born...
...

then how can you expect kindergarten classes to remain safe????

As the prophet Hosea proclaimed to an adulterous nation: "...bloodshed follows bloodshed" (Hosea 4:2)

A nation that is bent & intent upon killing its offspring cannot wonder how it is that there's others besides abortionists out to kill their young
