Gun-Free Zones or Stop the Insanity
self | 12/15/12 | self

I thought surely, after Columbine and especially Virginia Tech, that the insanity of gun-free zones would go away; how wrong I was.

What we need is Parent (or Grandparent) Guards, made up of capable, trained adults, sitting in shifts in teachers’ lounges, armed with personal weapons, ready at a moment’s notice to protect their loved ones.

I’m retired, own a shotgun and I’d volunteer in a heartbeat.

Imagine for a minute that the Connecticut elementary school had had such a system in place. The shooter would have found himself meeting his maker pretty quickly and it would not have been a massacre.

Twenty people – two for a.m, two for p.m., one day a week; and it wouldn’t cost the school a dime.

Or we can go the route of “…more gun control…” and gun-free zones and continue the insanity.

This is Barack’s Commie Lib Amerika now. There are a lot of things Americans are going to have to start doing to protect our children and our families. “Gun control” ISN’T one of them.

Some resources on school threats for consideration. (There’s some old news here, but evil, terrorism and massacres never go out of style.)

Those lunatics with guns are COWARDS. Even confronting them and firing one shot in their direction will make them crap their pants. They are NOT “tough” people at ALL! They wind up killing themselves because they are afraid to face the music. Eff ‘em!

Guarding the schools may be just the time and place for the "well-regulated militia"--
....with adequate training /weps quals,
...deputization /reserve officer status within the local jurisdiction,
...and sufficitent designated patrols /shifts that match the needs of the education facility....

JMHO...

Every flock, both large and small and including households, need a well armed Shepperd in today’s world. I can’t imagine the funding that went into equipping all of those 150+ useless responders when one guard with a side arm could have prevented this massacre.

In a dumbed down society under an oppressive government, common sense is pushed aside to implement impractical solutions, leaving citizens more defenseless to evil while dependent upon government for their safety.

Furthermore, this is something that local and state governments should implement and quit looking to Washington for impractical solutions that never work for the massive costs always involved.

Surveillance cameras are real small (smaller than a dime) and real inexpensive, and can be placed anywhere while transmitting back to a computer system that shows the periphery of a school ground. It would be easy to have one or two security persons monitoring the school site.

Last year a crazy person jumped a school fence in California armed with a gun. This could have easily been detected with an inexpensive surveillance system.

I was told recently here in Seattle that the previous Public School Superintendent absconded with about $1.5 million and when into retirement. When the fraud was found out, this person suddenly ‘passed’ away. Why is it that school employees think they are not paid enough? Since when did a career in public education become a path to becoming well off?

If someone tells me that public schools can’t afford a $3000 surveillance system that allows the school grounds to be viewed from any computer inside the school, I will say then take it out of the school salaries and pensions.

The NEA doesn’t want parents to know what is being taught in school. They don’t want any witnesses.

The Libs puzzled and puzzled till their puzzlers were sore.

They hired school psychologists, and then added more!

But all their Vain Actions were those of Blind Fools.

THE Only reason for failure: removing prayer and God from their schools!

Custodians in every school should be required to have training to the level of reserve peace officer, be fully trained in the use of firearms, use of deadly force and tactical response. Each and every custodian should be required to be armed at all times while on duty. At least one custodian should be required to be present during school hours. Teachers should have the option to train, receive certifications, and obtain a CCW and be permitted to carry concealed at school.
Eliminating the guns from out country is never going to happen. Criminals do not pay any attention or obey the gun laws that we have now and will equally ignore any new laws in the future. Laws that restrict non criminal law abiding citizens will not stop this type of gun violence. Putting experienced and trained people with guns between our children and the crazies who what to kill them is the only answer. Gun free zones just make murder much easier for the crazies.
This incident is the direct result of the adults at that school being disarmed and defenseless.

It’s nuts. The criminals do illegal stuff; it’s what they do. If Hussein thinks he’s gonna get the crooks to turn in their guns; he’s more gullible than I think. It will just be the law abiding citizens who get shot if they go along with this crock.

No, we need parents to revolt against any school system that does not have armed guards & staff who will defend the school when necessary.

Your proposition makes sense, but I’m of the mind that they ought to require a percentage of the teaching/admin staff to get trained and be armed. If need be, boost their pay/perks above those who don’t opt in.
