I would call this event a case of Delta Male Rage.

he was 20 years old. That's a stressful time for most young men. Hormones are raging and they are leaving the nest. some are better prepared to leave the nest than others. Those who leave the nest unprepared for the cold cruel world are prone to falling into self destructive patterns. when they have an underlying mental disorder, those self destructive patterns can become even more destructive. throw in some holiday stress and a failed intimate relationship and bam, you have a recipe for delta male homicidal rage.

I don't think this will be the last example of delta male rage we see. Not by a long shot.

It’s more than Delta Male Rage. Young men can have destructive patterns in their lives during stessful times, and yes commit horrible crimes, but this went beyond that. It was the killing of very young children. There is evil here that cannot be explained by male hormones.
