That's not the way GOP politics works. It was known many decades ago that the implementation of 'socialism' in a 'democracy' is a one-way ratchet. The GOP has not learned this lesson even now!
I sure would like to see the R’s get as mean and evil as they’re portrayed. Block everything. Give NOTHING in negotiations. The R’s opening offer should have been zero spending above the level of last years tax collection. Period.
Should be no more complicated than Boehner saying (over and over, the masses are a bit slow), “We’ve made a generous offer to settle this thing. Your move.”
Then sit and wait.
