Ending Progressive Public Education

If Barack and Michelle Obama feel comfortable allowing Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn to babysit their children, that is their problem. The question is, would you allow them to babysit yours? Let's take that a step farther: would you let them raise your children? Would you give them exclusive supervision over the majority of your children's daylight hours up to age eighteen, primary control of your children's academic curriculum and teaching methodology, and authority to arrange the broad social and moral framework within which your children will be educated? No? Then why do you accept modern public education? Furthermore, why, after having delivered generations of children into this Marx/Dewey/Marcuse/Ayers educational program, is anyone perplexed at people's inability to respect individual freedom, understand property rights, or hold themselves to standards of character and reasoning higher than that of a mugger?

Perhaps, as Allan Bloom suggested with regard to gladiators, witch burnings, and rock music, a civilization's greatest absurdity always seems normal to itself. In seeking to explain such a quotidian absurdity, the best angle from which to begin our search may be sideways.

Isn’t is amazing?

Government school teachers scramble the brains of several generations of parents and then marriage fall apart, abuse runs wild, divorce and illegitimacy rates soar and guess who the teachers blame?

Yep! The parents who hearts, minds, and souls that been thoroughly pickled by the “relativistic” poison fed to them on a daily basis as children in their government schools.

It’s everyone’s problem.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Yes, indeed it is! Everyone in this nation is and will suffer the consequences of our socialist-entitlement, single-payer, compulsory-use and currently godless government schools.

By the way, at best the governments schools started out with a lukewarm and generic Protestantism. (What does Christ do with the lukewarm? He spits them out of HIs mouth!) By my grandmother's day ( born 1894) they were godlessly secular with brief nod to God on occasion, and are now utterly godless. That was the Progressive plan from the beginning. Push push push the societal envelop of tolerance.

It is no longer radical to **know** that government schooling can not be reformed. Why?

Answer: Because it is impossible to reform a socialist-funded, single-payer, compulsory-use entitlement that is a price-fixed government monopoly cartel.

It isn’t just some homeschoolers who are writing, posting, and say this.

Solution: Begin the process of privatizing all education, find as many alternatives to college attendance as possible, and reform what would remain of our universities.

Having conservatives work in the socialist-funded, single-payer, godless, and compulsory government entitlement schools hoping for reform is as likely as having conservatives work in abortuaries or concentration camps hoping for reform.

If the foundation is rotten ( and all government K-12 schooling is built on the rotten foundation of socialism) the **entire** structure is doomed to fail ( as it has).

But the masses will never homeschool ..

At one time the masses did homeschool and our nation's literacy was nearly 100%.

I admit I never thought about public education in ‘single payer’ terms but it fits perfectly.
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

Obamacare won't be so bad in the beginning, in the same way that sing[e payer government schooling wasn't so bad, either. Why?

Answer: Due to the values of the workers trained in the old system.

It will take a generation or more for the true horror of Obamacare to manifest itself. Then the **exact** same solutions offered up for reforming our single payer schools will be ushered forth to reform the abominable socialist and single-payer health care.

*** Run for the school board ( health care people's collective).
** Conservatives need to work as principals and teachers. ( We need more conservative administrators, doctors, and nurses)
** Get involved in the PTA ( Get involved in the clinic volunteer committee)
** It's the parent's fault. ( It's the patient’s fault!)
** if we close to the socialist single-payer schools children parents won't care and children will have NO hope of being educated. ( If we close down the socialist and single-payer health clinics people will die in the streets.)

Etc.!

Fundamentally, anything ( schools, healthcare, energy or food distribution) built upon a foundation of single-payer and socialist-compulsion will fail! ....Eventually!.... It just might not seem so bad at first.

Re: genesis and Dewey

The genesis was the structure of government compulsory schooling from the very beginnings in the mid-1800s. It has always been a Progressive idea. It has always been a socialist entitlement, single-payer, and compulsory-use system.

The foundation was always dark and rotten. Dewey the fungus merely had a ripe environment in which to grow.

The failure was from the beginning. Modern government schooling has always been a socialist-entitlement, single-payer, and compulsory program.

Dewey merely had a rich and nutritious and fulminating rotten environment of socialist entitlement in which to take root.

Public schools were a big help to Hitler also.

The public schools are a great success at achieving their revolutionary function - to create a new People, unsullied by knowledge of history.

I thought it was a pretty amazing article, overall, yes. I guess I am most amazed that the federal government hasn’t tried to stop them.
I am very impressed that people in Mississippi took the initiative & made this happen for their children.
The removal of any reference to God & the social engineering imposed on children really, really bother me. It is bound to be a hardship, to some extent, for some folks to homeschool. Imagine if those people could get together- as Mississippians have, to ensure that their children are free from manipulation (& exploitation) & were able to receive a traditional education in a safe environment, literally & figuratively.
I think it would go a long way in getting our country back on track (especially with regard to empowering the parents.)

Personally, I consider government schooling to be so evil, so harmful to children, and such a threat to our nation that I will not have a government teacher or government school worker for a friend. They are too evil, too stupid, or too much of a Useful Idiot to be a friend.

As a Public school teacher, and speaking for other public school teachers, I am greatly relieved to hear this.

Let me ask you a couple of questions:

Is it fair judge all homeschoolers by the actions of Andrea Yates?

Is it fair to judge Homeschoolers/ religious schoolers by the actions of David Koresh?

Now I know that you will tell me not to ping you for the remainder of the thread, but we all know that is because you really can't answer these questions.

Those that watched the ‘memorial’ service last night saw quite the parade of the ‘lukewarm’...my school had both G-d AND guns when I was younger...never a problem for anyone.

From 'Communist Goals'...

17. Get control of the schools. Use them as transmission belts for socialism and current Communist propaganda. Soften the curriculum. Get control of teachers' associations. Put the party line in textbooks.
