Gunman had "altercation" with school staff day before massacre

The questions I have:
1. How big of an altercation?
2. If it was with 4 people, sounds substantial enough for a red flag and the police to be notified.
3. Did it require 4 people to come together in order to force him to leave the school the day before?
4. Were the police notified and did they follow up?
5. If the police were not notified, why not?

Also the police chief said the school was a very secure school.
The insane bastard supposedly shot through the door and shattered the glass in order to get in.
Probably regular shatter proof glass, not even ballistic glass and no metal bars.
This was not secure, just the illusion of security.
An electrical lock on a regular glass door to be *Buzzed* in, that in reality was their only security.
Apparently mostly women in the school with no means to defend themselves or the children, again, how was this security.

Everybody is running around talking about guns and insanity, but nobody is really looking at how really insecure the school was and perhaps a breakdown in procedure the day before.

Another FReeper pointed out to me that Lanza tried to buy a rifle before the altercation at the school. If I understand the sequence it goes like this:

1. Lanza tried to buy a gun before the altercation at the school, but he failed to get one.
2. He went to the school and had an altercation.
3. He returned to the school and carried out the murders.
