Once again, Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, arguably the world leader in providing intensified courses in the defensive use of firearms for private citizens, has the answer to stopping further attacks on school children. Front Sight will once again offer free firearms training to any school administrator, teachers, or full time staff members designated as school Safety Monitors.
Front Sight will accept for training up to three staff members from each school, college or university.
Applicants must submit a letter requesting training on school letterhead signed by the top school district official and designating the applicant as the school’s Safety Monitor.

Their resources are not at risk. Unfortunately, there will be no takers, and they know it.
How about firearms safety in elementary school and practical application throught out jr high and high school

I don’t think folks who offer this solution have ever taught in a school and have little idea of the personality make up of those who do.In 38 years in the classroom in seven jr and sr HSs and five different urban and suburban settings I’ve taught with fewer than ten people i would trust with a weapon even if trained. All of those were ex military, most from Nam. Nor would I feel secure knowing several colleagues were carrying. The daily stress on teachers can be overwhelming and stressed out teachers sometimes do irrational things. I physically unloaded on a few kids in my early classroom days. I knew teachers who did that routinely. i’d hate to think of the result if one was carrying. We are not cops. drawing down on someone is not easy, even for a cop. Giving teachers guns and asking them to be something that’s not in their mindset is at the least counter productive, if not downright insane.
