Hagel is disguising his animus against Israel by claiming that his animus is just American patriotism.

What Secretary of Defense, before he even starts his career in the role, begins by pointedly announcing that he will not have any partiality to one specific American ally?
What if he had said: "If I'm SecDef, America will come first - not South Korea!" or "If I'm SecDef, America will come first - not Poland!" or "If I'm SecDef, America will come first - not Colombia!"
No one would applaud, they would be bewildered by the ridiculous specificity of those non sequiturs and rightly wonder if that nominee had a soft spot for North Korean communism, or for Russian hypernationalism or for the Chavez regime.
You join a long list of those who suspect that they know the mind of God.
I suspect that you do not possess the knowledge you assure yourself of.
I made no claim to actual knowledge, only to a suspicion, and that only based on how mild his documented responses were to the slightest transgression.
