Remember - I am the messenger.

Looks like:

- Raise the debt ceiling for a year

- Hints at lowering COLA for SS and pensions

- Vague entitlement "reform" - Payroll tax stays

- Tax raise rise for folks somewhere between $250 and $1 million a year; I would guess in between there

They took Social Security taxes out of people’s paychecks, and now they want to cut the COLA? It’s not like anyone’s getting rich on Social Security.

I think this is Boehner’s last fling as Majority Leader. He will be gone in the next Congress.

Fiscal Cliff is soooo yesterday. The story now is how the liberals are going to disarm America.

Boehner’s offer is not a compromise, it is a suicide pact.

John Boehner has become a French surrender monkey. If the Republicans in the House go for this, it shows conservatives the GOP is not the vehicle to use to try to save America. It also pitches our country further into the abyss and less likely able to be saved by any peaceful political solution.

...- Hints at lowering COLA for SS and pensions...

For three years, we seniors/disabled got no COLA raise, even as the cost of living was skyrocketing. This year, we got a whopping 1.7%. For me, this translates into a staggering $19 a month. In the last year, my grocery bill (at Walmart) has doubled, my cable/internet has gone up by a third, and the utilities have gone up by 25%.

Somehow, I get the feeling that the Marxist in the White House seems to think "old age" and "disbilities" are shameful and those who have reached either/both should be eliminated.

I will outlive this traitor's term in office, just to spite his ugly self. And I will know beyond a doubt that what goes around, comes around. I think his comeuppance will not be pretty.

Boehner offers to take debt limit off the table

= Boehner offers to let Ubama and the rats bankrupt yet another generation of Americans (this time our great-grandchildren) so that the Republicans can have the honor of being blamed for both raising taxes AND pushing granny off a cliff ("spending cuts"). That's some great work, Boehner.

"NOW, you're negotiating!"

...and a high-intensity emotional conflict, which could go hot, timed to completely blot out any news of the proceedings over the fiscal cliff.

On stimulus, unemployment insurance will be extended . . . Perversely, the payroll tax cut, one of the most stimulative policies in the fiscal cliff, will likely be allowed to lapse, which will deal a big blow to the economy.

More money to enable the professional unemployed, but increased taxes for those of us who actually work and pay the bills for those who reject jobs good enough for the rest of us.

Nice to see Boner and BO are on the same page. < / sarcasm >

If Bonehead throws in gun control and amnesty, he might be able
to seal the deal. Maybe increase the budget to give away Obama
phones wouldn’t hurt either.

What about LOWERING THE DEBT CEILING? That would give up front spending cuts a mandate. Then we could talk revenue.
