I was cutting a metal tube and the wheel fragmented. Grinder kicked back hard and went half-way through my left index finger into the bone.

Through a leather welding glove.

Nothing a little duct tape couldn’t cure ;)

Seriously though, and I’m sure you are well aware, they are far more destructive than any knife ever invented.. Better ban them.

They just don't work as well with that annoying guard on, do they.

Fortunately, so far I’ve never broken a wheel on my angle grinder. My Dremel, on the other hand, is another story altogether. I’ve literally broken hundreds of cutoff wheels using my Dremel; given what I’ve used it for I have probably voided the warranty on it several times over.
