California teachers pension fund tied to gun maker by investment

An investment made by the California teachers pension fund is coming under scrutiny because of its link to the manufacturer of the assault rifle used in the Connecticut elementary school massacre.

The fund pledged to invest $500 million in the private equity firm Cerberus, owner of the gun-making conglomerate known as the Freedom Group.

One of the group's manufacturers is Bushmaster, which produced the rifle officials say was used to kill 20 schoolchildren and six adults in a Newtown, Conn., school Friday.

I know there are many conflicting accounts by the Lame Stream Media about the carnage and I haven't read them all but the one that stands out to me, said that the murderer didn't even use the rifle and that he had left it in the car and used two hand guns instead.

Anybody here have the actual facts in the matter? Not that the truth would matter to the gun grabbers.

The murderer could have used a revolver and reloaded several times, had he wanted to, it’s not like he had any real opposition among the victims. - or a knife, or a club, etc.

Which story are we to believe? It is that the shooter killed all those people with two handguns or, he actually used the rifle (shown in the lead story of this thread) whihc was supposeldly found in the back seat of his car?

First, he wasn't buzzed in....he shot out the glass in the door panel.

Next, just heard Laura Ingraham confirm that the shooter didn't use the Bushmaster, hand guns only.

Last, our school is having a lockdown/fire drill today. More importanly, I am going to the gun club this weekend and make sure I can protect myself instead of crouching under a table like a fish in a barrel!

Sorry....hadn’t read that yet....the “facts” and narrative of this nightmare seem to be changing every hour from the gitgo.....now I’ve read that they (the MSM) are trying to portray the shooters mother as “prepped” anything to link this nightmare to conservatives.....

The MSM has gotten almost everything wrong initially in their haste to be the first to break new details.

Yep, looks like there are three angles being blamed for demonic act:

1. Guns
2. Mom being a Prepper
3. video games

Nevermind that in all three areas, there are millions of people that indulge in each of these with no ill effects. The real culprit, I believe, is mental illness. that is where the focus should be. I don't even like seeing Asperger's being blamed as I think this shooter had more going on than just Asperger's.

Mainstreamedia just doesn’t want the FACTS to get in the way of a ‘ new crisis ‘.
All of the news media, and recently sports personalities, have turned from reporting information into the ‘Editorial Page ‘.
If I want to undertand what information the white hut wants released , I just listen to MSNBC ... (which is never !).

I just heard FOX News report that Bushmaster gun sales were skyrocketting since it was “ used “ in the massacere .
I guess the gun in question is “ used “ while it remains in the back seat , unused . /sarc

Those were the 'facts' during the day on Friday, back when the 'shooter' was the shooter's brother, and a girlfriend had been killed, and every network listed a different number of victims.

Since then, it's been made clear that a shotgun was locked in the car and the shooter took a Sig, a Glock, and the Bushmaster AR15 .223 into the school.

The AR15 was used to shoot out the door window to gain access to the school. The AR15 was used to shoot victims. A handgun was used by the shooter to commit suicide.

Actually, most of the media has reported that he "blasted" out the window. 'Shot out' isn't inflammatory enough.
