I remember a black friend in my high school days almost fifty years ago. Other blacks jumping on him and beating him, because he hung out with white kids and wanted to better himself. The problem is that peer pressure is great on these kids, keeping them down wth the ghetto mentality. If they want to change, they’ve got to get out of Detroit. (Unfortunately for my friend, he drowned in an accident - a good guy who lived in a ghetto.)

Keepin' it "real" 60's style. I work in a prison. The population is about 80% black. The staff is approx. 40-50% black. The thing black prisoners call black staff to piss them off is " house n***er". ghetto mentality rules in Detroit. Until the anti achievement, anti intellectual "hood rat ghetto" mentality is eradicated nothing will change. until it does, Detroit will continue to hemorrhage people and tax base.
