NRA Releases Statement, Shows More Class than Media

Waiting () was both the humane thing for the NRA to do and the smart thing tactically. By waiting until today, the NRA now knows what the media's tactics are; and by waiting a few days after making this announcement to hold the actual presser, they will have an idea of how our unbiased, objective, open-minded, impartial, non-ideological media intends to absolutely crush and destroy them.

What the NRA now has is the time needed to formulate arguments and to put forward that which our craven, opportunistic media has not -- a serious, pro-active plan to ensure Sandy Hook can’t happen again.

As much as they might try to delude themselves, it's just a fact that nothing the media's suggesting does anything to prevent another mass shooting. Columbine happened in the heart of Clinton's assault weapons ban. If we truly want to stop these mass shootings, no amount of feel-good control gun control will do that.

Something the NRA needs to be especially prepared for, though, is a media determined not to let them do anything right. Already the stories are being written declaring Friday's press conference a disaster, in poor taste, and a "setback for gun advocates."

There's no way in hell the anti-science media's going to allow anything to get in the way of their gun-grabbing crusade, and as we've already seen, that includes facts, history, logic, decency, data, and reality.

Look at what's happened to the NRA already. They've been mocked and taunted by the media for not speaking out. But you know if they already had, they would've been pilloried with "too soon."

Remember, this is the same media that blamed the Gabby Giffords shooting on Sarah Palin. These people are merciless when they're in a frenzy over the smell of blood in the water.

They sure are. I just heard the Obama campaign is fundraising off of his speech at Newtown.

Out of respect for the families, and as a matter of common decency, we have given time for mourning, prayer and a full investigation of the facts before commenting.

Point made.

Very well done.

The mainstream media gun control crowd tried desperately to cash in on the emotion of the event. To get a knee jerk reaction in law before cooler more rational thinking prevailed. To get us to agree with the surrender of our rights in an emotional echo chamber.

They should just issue a one-liner:

If any of those 6 teachers had a gun to defend their students, would they have hesitated to fire on the perpetrator?

If you want to play the blame game, look at Gun Free Zones.

Where do we find Gun Free Zones? Why, at our military bases, schools, post offices, theaters and malls.

Strangely - where do the psychopaths go on their shooting sprees? Well, primarily at military bases, schools, post offices, theaters and malls. Furthermore, these psychopaths do not seem to be affected by the number of laws they break in obtaining these weapons.

You don’t find shooters on a rampage at Gun Shows, or even Tea Parties. Seems that Libtards are certifiably insane, in that they want MORE Gun Free Zones; and to increase the gun laws that more law abiding citizens cannot get guns.

I hope we have some plants in room catching the reporters coordinate their questions again. (ok we all agree THIS is what we are going to ask. Or we are all going to say “military weapons” and then it does not matter what the answer is.)

The NRA should propose that the left doesn’t go far enough in protecting the kids.

Ban the car he drove to school in.

Ban the foods he ate for energy to commit his heinous acts.

Ban the clothes he wore.

It makes about as much sense as banning the gun he used.

Shows More Class than Media

While I agree the NRA statement was well done, a fart in church has more class than the media.

Hey I’ve got an idea.
The dept of education budget is $70 billion and there are 100,000 schools. That is $700,000 per school. I think we could put an armed guard in every school in America for that.

But no, the libs will keep wringing their hands and ban some guns because they look scary which will accomplish exactly nothing.

I say: ABOLISH THE DEPT OF EDUCATION AND ARM THE SCHOOLS!
DO IT NOW! NOT ONE MORE DEAD CHILD!!!!

Does anyone remember Ruby Ridge, or WACO where 70 some people were killed including 18 kids who were 12 years old and under all because the feds were enforcing their wonderful gun control laws?
This is what eventually happens when the feds go wild with their anti-gun laws.

The Tank that the ATF used to penetrate the building at Waco and started the fires is sitting in front of our American Legion building. Why they chose to let our American Legion Post have that tank I will never know. Scary relic.

The NRA is prepared to offer meaningful contributions to help make sure this never happens again.

Their "meaningful contributions" need to include aggressively challenging the asinine Gun Free School Zone laws which do nothing more than create federally mandated child killing zones.

Additionally, the NRA should provide training for and organize a program in which background-checked volunteers would provide full time, armed security at their neighborhood school.

I hope the current NRA has the backbone to go this route and not cave to the political pressure that the gleeful, ghoulish, tragedy exploiting leftists have manufactured.
