BRIDGEWATER — A Raritan man who lost his job as a Bridgewater Commons mall security guard after asking a Muslim woman to remove her traditional head scarf has filed suit alleging discrimination and wrongful termination.

Marc Krause, of Raritan Borough, filed a legal complaint in Somerville against IPC International Corporation, a security vendor, and General Growth Properties, owner of Bridgewater Commons. The complaint was filed on Dec. 10 by attorney Brian Cige in New Jersey Superior Court in Somerville.

Krause had worked at the mall since April 2001 while it was still owned by Rouse Company, and remained employed in 2003 when General Growth Properties took over mall ownership.

"The plaintiff was not a mall employee, but rather an employee of the mall's security vendor," according to David Keating, vice president of corporate communications for GGP. He said he could not comment further on pending litigation.

The complaint contends that GGP was the decision maker for Krause's hiring and firing, and therefore his 'de-facto co-employer.'

I don’t get it. Muslims are killing anyone who is not a Muslim and we’re bending over to appease them?

In many movies it’s comical to see men run around in disguises as women with veils...the guard did what he was supposed to do. I hope he wins the suit.

Why would anyone be required to remove a head covering to shop in a mall?

Come to think of it, how could the security guard - or anyone else - know for sure that the individual (he or she)in full burqua is not carrying small arms or explosives concealed on their person.

The head covering may have been there for a reason. The woman may have been bug ugly....

My daughter was wearing the hood of her jacket in a local mall because she was cold (my daughter had very short hair). They told her to take the hood off her head or she would be expelled from the mall. This policy was designed to have full facial exposure in the video cameras for identity purposes.

maybe it was one of the veils that cover the whole face except for the eyes. I’ve seen people wearing those in Dallas.

muslims have no special rights and should not have any. if they don’t allow anyone to go through like that without being checked, nobody’s being discriminated against or singled out.

the mall can have security policies that state you can’t wear masks or cover your face in the mall. going to the mall is optional and it’s a privately owned business. nobody has an inherent right to be there.

I’ve seen people wearing those in Dallas.”

Was in Houston last week. Trying to get out of a ton of traffic backed up because of construction. Made the mistake of cutting up a unfamiliar side street. Didn’t realize there was a mosque on that street - hundreds of people pouring out - several women in full black garb with only a small slit for the eyes. Freaked me out. Exactly where did these people come from and what are they doing in Houston?

Blame the equal opportunity, multiculti fascists who feel “diversity” is our strength. You may want to join FAIR or some other immigration group, though I can’t say it’ll help. Our overlords want to destroy this country.

There’s a huge mosque in Houston that actually has a lot of political power in Texas.

It’s going to be interesting when LaRaza, the Mayor and her gay group, Quanell X and the Muzzies all clash. Bound to happen sometime. Of course all the cowboys come to town in February for the rodeo. Talk about diversity. I’m sure if there is a big problem though, Congresswoman Sheila Jackson will unwind her braids, use them as a magic carpet and fly into Houston from DC and save the day.

Thank heavens I moved to the suburbs.

It's been 25 years, but I had the same "cognitive-dissonance" thingy. I'd turned off a major state road in Palm Beach County, Florida, and thought I'd driven into Vera Cruz.
