Somehow we went from the kid wanting the BB gun for Christmas, or GI Joe, or a tank, etc.

And wound up with this utter paranoid fear of guns...

Yet we have some of the most violent video games etc.

A comment I made in another post applies here as well -
******
Nobody is forced to own a gun. People are free to have a gun or not have a gun as they choose. That's fine. If you don't want the ability to protect yourself with a gun that's your decision.

But then look what happens. Some bad person goes into an area where it was previously decided there would be no protection from guns and kills a bunch of people. And who does everyone get mad at? Not the people who decided the area would have no protection from guns. No. Everyone gets mad at the people who DO have protection in the form of guns. They want everyone else to be forced to not have a gun either!

So what they are saying is "This wouldn't have happened if you were as helpless as those people were forced to be! We should all be equally helpless!" "Except for the police, of course." "And the military." "And government officials." "Oh, and people wealthy enough to afford armed security." "But everyone else should be helpless!"

For the benefit of those who don't want to go to the link, can someone summarize what it was that he signed?

Thanks.

“The liberal group Progress Ohio had requested Kasich hold off signing the law. It will, for the first time, allow people to bring guns into the parking garages under the statehouse, and across the street at the Riffe center.”
