Not to mention the lack of the major demographic that causes most gun violence in the US, inner city young black men which murder other inner city young black men.

If the demographics were altered to match that of Europe, would the crime rates really be that much different?

Is there a statistician in the house ???
I would love to see a statistician create some type of dashboard or visual aid to drive that point home. A very, very small part of the populace is skewing the crime stats.
