The GUNS AMERICA site is trying to mount a counter petition drive to dissuade the White House from entering into a crusade against our Second Amendment freedoms. So far they are the only group out there. The antis are drooling and rapidly involved. Many pro gun folks have visited but few have signed. NEWSFLASH: Folks, the bad guys in our government ALREADY know where you are and whether or not you present a "threat." Go and sign the petition! A lack of response makes us look weak and ineffectual and lacking in courage -- almost asking for our rights to be trampled. What would Thomas Jefferson say?

You are on freerepublic. You are already on a list. Fighting now with paper and electrons is much easier than fighting later as people have their taxes audited or have the health care cut off, or are picked up for reeducation.

You guys think you're not already on that list? FREEPERS head the list! So do ex-military, anybody who subscribes to gun magazines or has a hunting license or a ccw permit or who EVER bought a gun and filled out a 4473. What about your letters to the Editor? Folks I'm so catorgized in multiple categories, I don't worry about something as measley as this. As my tag line says: Stand up and be counted, or LINE UP AND BE NUMBERED!

Oh yeah, great idea. None of those idiots live in ccw or open carry states, so we could all be in violation of law. The RATS would scream for help and before you knew it we'd have a UN Peace Keeping force here. Think the war in Afghanistan went a long time? You'll be an army of one on that day. I prefer to not give anybody a reason to believe we're all nuts who don't deserve to have a firearm. Tell you what, you just run out there and draw fire, we'll watch.

As someone whose family almost in its entirety was lined up and counted before they were tattooed and numbered, and before they were lined up and murdered because they made themselves EASY to find, I still say I will not volunteer to be found easily. If they want to look for me, make them work for it.

Exactly. Bunches of them actually. If you've bought a gun through any FFL dealer they know you have guns. If you've bought any guns, ammo or accessories with a credit card they know you have guns. If you've joined any pro-gun organization they know you have guns. If you've ever sent a letter or e-mail to a Congress critter in defense of gun rights they know you have guns.

About 110 million Americans, 1 out of 3, own guns so there is really no need to be shy about it now.

Great idea. And don’t forget to have the personal discipline to write to our members of Congress and state legislators. Remember that semi-auto firearms are in style with a very sizable contingent of Democrats, too.

My late father was born in Moscow in 1907 and was a distant relative to the Czar. His family saw much the same during the Russian revolution. I've been NRA since before I was born. They won't have to look hard for you. I won't make it hard at all. Nothing to hide from ... No reason to hide.
