DEBKAfile exclusive: Iranian production lines are turning out a new type of speed mini-submarine customized for combat against the US and other Western navies present in Persian Gulf waters.
On the principle of asymmetric warfare, the new pint-sized Iranian submarines are light in weight and able to dart nimbly around large vessels to explode on contact with their floating target.
Their pilots are bent on suicide.
These mini-subs are designed to complement the app. 2,000 Revolutionary Guards’ explosive speedboats.

The USN has been suicide attack aware since WWII. In this case, they have created surface fast attack drone boats:

They are also developing torpedo-like submarine drones, and no doubt are highly aware of the mini-sub threat, especially after the sinking of the South Korean Cheonan.
Didn’t the Japanese try this in WW II? They lost the war anyway. But they could sink a ship or two—today’s America, an America who doesn’t wish to lose any soldiers or sailors might cave at the lost of one capital ship. Maybe the Iranian Mullahs are on to something. Kill a few Yanks and we fold up and go home and pay them off.
Didn’t do the Japanese any good on Dec 7th or the rest of WWII when they tried using them.
