He might be right about society moving in that direction, but he's wrong even about accepting that. It is like moving toward communism. Just because we are doesn't mean it is good. And, just because many are sheeple followers, doesn't mean we should be.
Accepting unnatural marriage will render the culture itself dangerous to our children. Unnatural behavior is death-bringing itself, and unnatural marriage puts society's seal of approval on it.
That is, Sodom.

In fact, Newt's accepting the "since everyone's moving that way" logic means:
1. That any belief he has is negotiable depending on which direction society is moving.
2. That he wasn't the one I had hoped he had become. He remains a utilitarian despite his conversion. Callista better watch out.
