Communists across Russia are celebrating 133 years since the birth of one of the most influential dictators of the past century, Soviet leader Joseph Stalin. Several hundred communists gathered on Moscow’s central Red Square to honor the memory of Stalin and lay flowers at his grave by the Kremlin wall. Tributes were led by the leader of the Communist Party Gennady Zyuganov with people carrying portraits of their idol along with red roses. Various events to commemorate Stalin’s birthday have also been held on Friday in other Russian cities.

Stalin, Friend and Comrade--Ernst Busch--A tribute to the Vozhd from the year he turned 70.

After he died, Ray Anderson offered this appropriate tribute.

Solzhenitsyn late wrote his feelsings upon hearing the news of Stalin's death "so the Asiatic dictator is dead, my heart could have jumped with joy". It looks like a small ceremony compared to Solzhenitsyn's funeral so the wheel of history took an interesting turn where the dissident is more honored than the "Man of Steel". Solzhenitsyn Funeral

His birthday is unimportant.

The world was a much better place after his death.

And on that day he was judged and is today in his proper place.

Evil men like Stalin cannot escape that.

Humans should not remember these vermin, only their actions.

"...in his proper place..." Long before the fall of the Soviet Union, Stalin was dishonored there, his body was removed from display in the Lenin-Stalin Mausoleum, and he was buried. His name and image was largely removed from Soviet plazas and history books. Solzhenitsyn's funeral

Yep. It’s frightening what some people will overlook in their worship of a deeply flawed person, like pResident Zero.

Thanks for the link to that song. They should have played it at Eric Hobsbawm’s funeral.

Hey, maybe they can round up some Ukrainians and starve them to death in Uncle Joe’s memory. Or find some people and send them to a gulag. I’m sure China and North Korea still have a few. Maybe they can reopen the Lubyanka and shoot a few thousand innocent people. Yeah, hooray for Uncle Joe!!! (snicker)
