Many US citizens are jailed in Mexico every year for firearms violations. The Mexicans will arrest for even minor things like parts to firearms or ammunition, very fanatical. This is well known on the border and the crossing near me has huge signs warning everyone headed to the border. My cousin guided hunters on hunts in Mexico for 40 years, had all the proper paperwork for firearms- was arrested on one trip anyway. My cousin knew some important people in Mexico and was released in 4 days- he decided to never return to Mexico. Having the right paperwork for one group does not mean other officials will recognize it. Mexico really is a third world country.
At the mercy of Mexican authorities there is no common sense to any part of the process.
Tammy, or anyone else, how strict are the gun laws in Mexico for their citizens and how is the enforcment?
