I responded to an office worker who criticized the NRA suggestion of armed security because guns have no place in the school. I told her that as a former military, if she had a job in the Army, she would fail military tactics because she based her decisions on ideology and not reality. Bottom line is today ALL our schools are currently vulnerable to active shooters. Elementary schools especially because they are mainly staffed by women, student body is small children and most important not prepared to defend itself thru passive and active means till the cops arrive. Making a decision based on emotional hatred of something to the point of overriding tactical reality is dangerous to the people whom she wanted to protect. I told her that if she ever was a platoon leader with such an approach to tactics, she would be frag by her own troops.

My guess is that only reason some Muslim terrorist group hasn't tried to do a Beslan here isn't because it's too difficult, but because the PR fallout would be devastating.
