Armed Teacher Training Program to Provide Free Training to Educators(OH)
Buckeye Firerams Association ^ | 20 December, 2012 | cbaus

DELAWARE, OH - Buckeye Firearms Association (BFA) announced they have launched a program to provide firearm training to teachers free of charge.

The announcement was made at a Town Hall Meeting at Ohio State University Thursday evening where participants debated the gun control issue in light of the recent mass murder at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Connecticut.

Ken Hanson, BFA's Legal Chair, made the announcement, saying, "Teachers and school board members have been asking us for years about training to prepare for an incident like Sandy Hook. So our educational Foundation will sponsor an Armed Teacher Training Program for a comprehensive 3-day class at Tactical Defense Institute in West Union, Ohio. Based on the response, we will roll out classes to other training facilities."

The program will begin by accepting 24 teachers. All expenses, including class tuition, ammunition, and lodging (which are expected to total approximately $1,000 per teacher), will be paid by Buckeye Firearms Foundation and outside donations. Officials will be invited to attend the class at no cost to help develop appropriate training guidelines.

"The long-term goal is to develop a standard Armed Teacher curriculum and make the training available to any teacher or school official," said Hanson. "To begin, we will use funds from our educational foundation and solicit donations from corporations to pay for the program. Going forward, we will seek funding from a variety of sources to expand the training."

BFA's educational foundation is finalizing details of the Armed Teacher Training Program and will provide further details as the program takes shape.

OUTSTANDING! SCREW FEDZILLA.
Solve the problem where it SHOULD BE: In the local communities and states.

That said, a better solution is to get your precious children OUT of what have become government indoctrination centers and HOME SCHOOL THEM. It only requires a few hours a day for a kid to LEARN! Only God knows what’s going into your child’s head the other 5 hours a day but it almost certainly explains Obama!

And if you want to know where I got that information about the instructional content, let me know and I’ll post it to this thead.

Good for Buckeye Firearms Association!

This is a great way to seize the high ground - similar gun orgs around the country should offer the same: “Free Firearms Training to Teachers and School Administrators”

The guy open carry with the preschoolers. How would you feel about him teaching a room full of middle school band students - being the middle of them adjusting an instrument with lots of grabby hands all around?

By the way several Israelis have commented that this is not the normal state of affairs in virtually the entire country.

http://jewishpreppers.com/2012/12/are-israeli-teachers-armed/

Finally they are at a state of war with every country around them as well as the Palestinians. Who are we at war with in the U.S.?

Not saying I disagree with CCW for teachers, but just some thoughts as individuals consider this a solution for the U.S. The Israel solution would cost the U.S. approximately $10B (one armed LEO or equivalent at every public school).

The thought of allowing the lazy slobs who pump garbage into our kids’ heads the authority to carry weapons gives me pause.

They can't. Ohio law would have to be changed. The idea is to equip at least one highly trained person per building with a gun who could provide a quick and appropriate response to an intruder with a gun.

Carrying a gun should be a choice-every free American’s choice.

Considering 47% believe they have a right to the fruits of labor from their neighbor by force......I would say each other.

It's just that not many have realized it yet.

It turns out that under Ohio law school boards can authorize security guards to carry guns in school. Designate teachers as security guards and it's legal. This information just came out a few days ago.

Lobo,

Per your request (and thanks for yours material).

In 1978, my wife and I came to know a young woman named Patty. She was a devoutly religious young mother who'd become more devout when her husband and father of her two small sons aged 2 and 6 informed her that he was leaving. In dire economic straits, I offered to let her stay in our former home in Chamblee -- which was not rented at the time – rent-free until she got back on her feet. She had been clandestinely home schooling the 6 year old for about 2 years using very well done Christian course materials from an organization in Texas the name of which escapes me. The lad had recently been tested and had placed at least a year ABOVE his chronological age. As required by the government school authorities at the time, she dutifully apprised the authorities of his scores.

For reasons which would become clear in a moment, Patty had been harassed by the DeKalb County school authorities for about 6 months and, by the time she moved into the Chamblee house, had been -- unbeknownst to us -- ORDERED to put the 6 year old into the nearest government elementary school or suffer the consequences. Because she wanted the boys to be educated Christians, there was no way she was going to do that and she told them so.

At approximately 2 am one morning, a loud knock on the door announced the arrival of the aforementioned "consequences." Dressed only in a nightgown, she was confronted by several burly police officers who thrust an arrest warrant in her face. With the now awakened 6 year old watching and the 2 year old wailing in the other room, she was handcuffed and led out the door to jail. She was tossed into a large cell with a couple of hookers and a junkie who spent much of the rest of that morning vomiting in the corner. The two young boys for whom the educational authorities professed such great concern were just left AT THE HOUSE -- ALONE! Patty was later told that the bureaucrats from Children Services who were SUPPOSED to accompany the cops were late and, in their haste to get this dangerous miscreant behind bars, the cops just missed the fact that the Children Services people were, well, missing. The CS folks showed up an hour later to find two terrified kids, one of whom had just seen his mother hauled off in cuffs.

Patty was ultimately brought to trial under the Georgia Truancy Statutes. Her pro-bono attorney tore the school authorities to shreds and hers has been called THE case that opened the floodgates to home schooling in Georgia. Once they had all the facts, the jury didn’t take long to acquit her. I’m proud to have played a small part in that.

At Patty’s trial, a previously overlooked aspect of the government schools was put into sharp focus for those paying attention: The Director of Instruction for DeKalb County testified that the then current 7 hour school day consisted of an average of approximately 3 hours or less of instruction. At that time, Patty was devoting 4 to 5 hours a day to direct instruction.

He also as much as admitted that the REAL reason they wanted ALL these kids in school was the $3,000.00 per kid per year they then got from the state and federal government. Empty seats = lost funds. As in most things, follow the money. Patty home schooled these two boys through high school.

And how did the boys turn out?

One is now a physician and the other a budding journalist.

But that now seems to be the norm for the growing legions of home schooled kids – which most likely explains why the NEA and the government school folks feel so threatened. I believe a home schooled child won the last National Spelling Bee.

Thomas Jefferson believed an EDUCATED PUBLIC to be the cornerstone of the system he and the other Founders TRIED to leave behind. He would NOT, I feel certain, be a big fan of the current government education system. If he returned today, he’d home school his children just as he did before.

This is the reason so many disrupting thugs aren't permanently expelled from school.

Thank you! My brother and his wife homeschooled my nephew and are now schooling the grandsons. I read these stories all the time and pass them on.

It was considered a conspiracy theory 40 years ago that the state would take over the children. Few (me included)could imagine that ever coming to pass.

The government has turned our schools into stockyards!

And we all know that the next stop from those stockyards is the abattoir. The dumbed down morons who supported the Idiot-in-Chief will be in the chute before they figure it out.

Any libs lurking from Dummy Underground will need to look up the term.
