Cobb gun show attracts scores looking for assault-style rifles (Atlanta, GA)

As gun control talks heat up in Washington, more than 1,000 people lined up Saturday morning outside the exhibit hall at Jim Miller Park in Cobb County for the Eastman Gun Show.

Many hoped to walk away with assault-style rifles and high-capacity magazines they fear may soon be outlawed.

“This is awesome,” said Kevin Law, a gun enthusiast and surveyor from Woodstock. He attended the show with his brother Keith Law. “We knew it was going to be like this. People want to protect their rights.”

Like many in line in the freezing temperatures, the Law brothers had planned to attend the show before the mass shooting at an elementary school in Newtown, Conn., on Dec. 14 claimed the lives of 26 people, most of them children. The mass shooting revived gun control talks on Capitol Hill.

But the shifting political landscape had those in the Cobb County line bracing against more than just the cold.

Anyone have any experience with the Thermold Magazines. I need a couple for my neighbors Armalite ar-180. I told him from what I could find on line there is about a two week back order.

How could this happen!?

According to the control freaks guns go off at random times without any human interference. With all those assault weapons and bullets in the same room there should have been, at the very least, several dozen dead and injured!

Please excuse the sarcasm; but, that is exactly how myopic the gun control freaks are.

Your graphics needs updating as Wisconsin became the 49th State to pass a CCW bill. Ours is “shall issue” and it became effective Nov 2011. Illinois is now the only holdout with no provision for CCW or open carry although once you get away from Chicago and Springfield there is a strong gun culture in the rest of the state.

I wish I knew where it originated, whoever created it I am sure could update it.
