OTTAWA - Immigration Minister Jason Kenney says Santa Claus won't need proof of citizenship when he returns to the North Pole at some late hour after his Christmas Eve flight to deliver gifts around the world.
"As a Canadian citizen living in Canada's North, he may re-enter the country freely at the end of his international trip," Kenney said.

Santa does better than I once did.A few years ago I entered Canada at the North Dakota/Manitoba border. They held me for 90 minutes while they disassembled the trunk of my car (looking for God-knows-what) and repeatedly asking me questions about firearms. They even instructed me to power up my PC and they searched it.The customs officials were always polite (as was I) but to this day I can't understand the reason.I was allowed in,as I've been since, but that was 90 minutes I could have used doing other things.
And yes,I'm sure that our customs people make strange decisions.Hell,I've been abused (not physically) by US Customs/Immigration people.
I still love Canada though!

So, is the claim that the North Pole is Canadian territory an innocent mistake?

So, is the claim that the North Pole is Canadian territory an innocent mistake? There is,in fact,a huge battle waged by a number of northern countries, for mineral rights in the far north. My understating is that the USSR (it's still the USSR to me) is the worst offender, claiming rights to everything in sight.

Santa has no country. Or else canadastan would charge him 11% on sales tax and make him pay equalization payments to Ottawa.

Santa Claus is a citizen of the Roman Empire and his native language is Greek. The Mad Greek restaurant in Baker, Calif. includes him on a list of famous Greeks that ranges from Plato and Aristotle to Olympia Dukakis.
