Over a decade ago we watched as journalists weighed their vocation and its ethics against their political and secular humanistic belief systems.

The former rarely won.

We saw time after time that a story would slip into the media and be rewritten, spun, quashed entirely or otherwise tampered with for political purposes. We had big copy-write battles because we captured and detailed that spin.

In the tragic school murders we watched media stumble to quickly reporting incorrect information over and over for eight hours. In the Clinton protection mode it worked in reverse.

Since the failure to remove by the Senate, the media has come into its full control of the US political consciousness. What we have with the Obama Presidency is an extension of that day.

Since the failure to remove by the Senate

The Senate, as a "whole", has long been morally corrupted post WWII.

Personally, in my lifetime, I'd put it at the failure to boot Ted Kennedy after his shameful failing on July 18, 1969. Then, any number of senators were able to get away all sorts of moral failings, outright corruption, and acts, if not outright, bordering on sedition and treason.
