Bennett More Popular Than Ever, in Polls and on Facebook

The weekend media storm over Naftali Bennett's position on how IDF soldiers should deal with orders to throw Jews out of their homes does not seem to have hurt the Bayit Yehudi chairman – and in fact, the party is doing better than ever. Several polls showed that Bayit Yehudi has pulled ahead of Shas, and with its 12-13 seats (depending on the poll), the party will be the third largest, after Labor and Likud-Yisrael Beiteinu.

Auguring the party's popularity is the fact that Naftali Bennett's Facebook page has now achieved 100,00 “likes,” the seal of approval Facebook users grant to people and projects they favor. Of those, 12,000 were posted in just the past six days – indicating that Bennett is enjoying a surge of popularity that has not yet crested.

In fact, Bennett's Facebook page is the second most popular, in likes and views, among all Israeli politicians – bested only by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu's page. After Bennett in popularity are Ahmed Tibi, Avigdor Lieberman, Shelly Yechimovich, and Yair Lapid.

According to the statistics released by Bayit Yehudi, some 4,000 people respond to each post Bennett puts up on his Facebook page. In addition, his Facebook mailbox is “stuffed” with messages from supporters and offers to help the Bayit Yehudi campaign. Over 1.1 million web users see content from Bennett's page each week, the statistics show.

What? Are we into Facebook popularity and American Idol as the new standards of elections and office holding???

Under this arrangement, how will we ever again elect statesmen and superior administrators???

I would hope that Isreal, as a microcosm of righteous ruling with a democratic process could set an example for the former world's example, America and get the USA back on a moral and better self governing track!!!

Of course the "Prince of Peace" with his satanic adversary has yet to make this correction with the help of mankind until after the second coming...

All Facebook popularity is is an extension of incessant polling. Who gives a damn what a snapshot sample of people thinks at a given moment? The only way to destroy this idiocratic tumor on the lung of Republican constitutional democracy is to disable it. Lie to pollsters, and encourage all others to do the same, until polling is no longer reliable, and politicians have to simply say what they truly believe and hope for the best (this is Rush’s idea, of course). Publish bogus polls, and polls that are parodies of polling, until the entire polling culture is laughed into oblivion, and people start thinking for themselves, again. As for Facebook, I’m at a loss, though.

The problem is Israel's liberal judiciary which rules Israel. From Israel's attorney general who is trying to frame Avigdor Lieberman to the rest of their judiciary with their phony anti racism law.

Israel is really a horrid krinocracy (rule by judges) and it paralyzes many of the Conservative leadership there.

It was Judge Robert Bork, of blessed memory, who warned that the Israeli judiciary was one of the worst in the world amongst free nations.

That’s saying quite a lot. All the judiciaries want more power, and invent laws with precedents, designed to empower them. In the back of my novel United America: 2014, I drafted two proposed sets of amendments to the Bill of Rights, one by liberals, the other by conservatives. The conservative draft proposed a democratic mechanism for overturning noxious judicial decisions, short of amending the constitution. The novel itself is crap. But it’s still worth buying to read those two appendices, imho. Besides, I could use the money.
