... Obama is cutting short his vacation in the Pacific state of Hawaii and will return to Washington to resume talks with congressional leaders aimed at reaching agreement on a deficit reduction package before the year ends.
The White House says Obama will leave Wednesday and is expected to arrive back in Washington early Thursday.
Early last week,the president said he and Republican House Speaker John Boehner were relatively close to an agreement on a compromise to avert what is being called a "fiscal cliff" -- $500 billion in mandated spending cuts and tax increases that would affect almost all American workers starting January 1.

I just hope that Boehner can wipe the tears away long enough to see that he’s got Obama by the macadamias. The Chicago Man-child wouldn’t cut his vay-cay short if he thought that driving off of the fiscal cliff would poll well for him. Unfortunately, the cowering GOP will probably give in to whatever The One demands.

It just galls me to no end that my so-called 'conservative' Rep Tom Price voted to raise the debt ceiling while someone like John Lewis or Bawney Frank voted against it.
indeed, republicans should none the less do nothing. There can be no deal to which either Obama or Reid would find palatable in any budget.
Reid in Particular would never vote on a budget simply because there is no budget that could possibly be both conservative and liberal enough to support his contradictory web of lies
The only differences between Reid and Obama, is at the end of the day Obama does not care, as long as he gets what he wants.

I'm throwing the Barbra Streisand flag on this headline. O-Blamer just wants to get the photo-op looking like he's doing something so he and Pravda-US have real pictures of his "working hard" to avoid the fiscal cliff that he's been praying for since he first announced his candidacy in 2007.
