Gun laws observed only by the lawful

When the gun instructor got through describing the restrictive gun laws in Boston and in Massachusetts -- which are just about the toughest in the nation -- one student asked:

"If the gun laws are so tough, how come there are shootings every night in Boston?"

"That's a good question," the instructor replied. "The answer is that the gun laws are aimed at the good guys, the law-abiding people, like you and me. The bad guys ignore the law and get all the guns they want."

That is the dilemma facing governors, mayors, legislators and even the president as the nation seeks to stem the tide of assault rifles landing in the hands of people who should not have them -- if indeed any citizens should have them in the first place.

Bad guys steal their guns from law-abiding citizens. Therefore, so the Libtard thinking goes, if law-abiding citizens can’t possess “assault rifles” then they can’t be stolen by bad guys.

I was just looking up the CCL requirements for my home state.

One of the restrictions is Mental Illness.

Nearly all of the shooters in recent massacres had been diagnosed with some form of mental illness, and many were on medication.

Which means they had the guns in violation of EXISTING laws.

More laws will just mean more violations.

Insane.

Thanks pietraynor for this... I wonder if people don't know that laws never stop crime but can only punish those who commit them. More laws don't mean less crime.. 'It is not new laws that are needed. It is new political leaders. The problems facing this country go much deeper than guns.'

50 million people and thousands of tons of drugs get smuggled into our country; these people don't think they'll just toss a few guns into each of those shipments?

Liberals don't think there are CNC machine shops in nearly every industrial park in this country; they don't think they'll make a few illicit guns if the price is right?

The more liberals talk, the more obvious it is they see the world like a 5 year-old.

Your observation is even more obvious when examining the reasoning behind making schools a "gun-free zone." Liberal 5 year old thinking is we just made our children safer by banning guns from school. Nevermind that the evil-doers don't follow the rules.

Also, do some research and read about how many militerized weapons are stolen each year from our national guard armories. Who has those weapons? They aren’t showing up ar gun shows.

Much to agree with here. But, we must call out certain thing that get interjected into each discussion. First, who says things are getting worse? Facts please, not opinion or emotion. Second, why would a retired political ticket puncher from the military be your man? If he stood by his oath he would only have one choice in the matter. What experience can he bring about civilian gun ownership. His job in the military was when his people are threatened by other armed people give your guys superior fire power. Isn’t that what most of us are recommending to the schools?
