If you got sick, he got sicker. If something was unpleasant, he was more uncomfortable. Everything affects him more...his results are always the best. Him, him, him.
It doesn't take a PhD to see how he developed this way but that sure wouldn't make it easier to be around. No wonder she is so miserable.

That’s it in a nutshell. Narcissists ALWAYS must one up anyone else’s story. Hubby and I were in a band one time with a lead guitarist who was like this. Thought he was Gods Gift To Women, and no matter WHAT story you told, he had ALWAYS done the same thing, only better. I remember after one gig, he decided to go home with a gal in the audience who was NOT his wife, and expected me to keep quiet about it. I told him in NO UNCERTAIN terms that if I was asked, I wouldn’t lie for him. Talk about fuming (him, not me). After all these years, I wish I’d told her anyways, but she eventually figured him out on her own. As soon as I come across people like this, I steer clear.
