A snubby is actually fairly accurate at short distance. It’s just that the sights are lousy. Put a laser grip on there and you’ll hit the target quick and accurately almost every time.
At the last IDPA I participated in, June 2006, one guy used a Colt Cobra .38 Special, his old LEO service piece, and scored 96 avg on the 4 rounds.
I’ll always remember his advice: “In a fight, front sight.” He taught me combat/personal defense shooting after the competition, and I don’t bother w/ 3-pt Weaver stance; I draw and fire from hip w/ Kimbers, hitting 9 & 10 rings every time. Front sight only.
