Would the submarines also be zapped with EMP?

Is there any way US could intercept an EMP missile before it could damage US?

Most submarines, tanks and military hardware is hardened to withstand an EMP strike (in case of nuclear war). Civilian hardware...not so much. The US could intercept a ballistic missile en route to US air space, however even with modern missile defense a lot of things have to go right. If it were fired from say a container ship 30 miles off the coast...we’d have no chance.
