The plan was put together by an Orlando private detective whose company, Associated Investigative Services Inc., last week filed suit against Zimmerman and his attorney, Mark O'Mara, claiming they owe $27,000 for security services.
The company's invoices, attached to the suit, show that it billed Zimmerman and O'Mara $66,000 for 21 days of protection – an average of more than $3,100 a day – even though Zimmerman was still in the Seminole County Jail during seven of those days.
During one five-day period, the agency billed Zimmerman and O'Mara more than $5,100 a day, the invoices show.
O'Mara said last week that he paid the company $40,000, that the charges appeared to be exorbitant and that he never signed a contract.
Zimmerman is now being protected under a plan that costs $700 a week, O'Mara said.
Stephen Milbrath, the Orlando attorney who filed suit, said O'Mara was bound by an oral contract. The bodyguards took on a challenging assignment: To make a high-profile, widely-hated man invisible and safe.
Zimmerman, a 29-year-old Neighborhood Watch volunteer, has said he acted in self-defense, but the killing ignited racial tensions and sent thousands of people to the streets at rallies across the country. It prompted hate mail and death threats – and not just to Zimmerman but also to his parents, who abandoned their Lake Mary home and went into hiding; his lawyer; and the daughter of a judge.

He has to buy his own protection and eventually runs out of resources to do so. And, somehow, he's the bad guy in all of this?
Back when Jesse Jackson first ran for president (1988, I think), someone wrote to famed Chicago columnist Mike Royko complaining that society shouldn't have to pay for secret service protection for someone's ego trip. Royko wrote what I thought was an eloquent defense of the expense by saying that was the price society paid to protect freedom of speech, including the consequences which might result from bigots taking literal shots at Jackson for exercising those rights. The exact same logic should be applied to Zimmerman for exercising his rights to self-defense and presumption of innocence until proven guilty. Why isn't it?
It should be paid by the people who were inciting a lynch mob: Spike Lee, Jesse Jackson, Obama, NBC, etc.
He’s the bad guy in this because a huge nomber of people in this country are ridiculously stupid, and they can be pushed easily by the Mass Mind Control media.
It’s the way the system works. They’ll be glad to let him protect him by having him rot in jail. Unless you are a member of the protected aristocracy, your life is worthless to the powers that be. The full resources of the state are available to destroy you, your life and any vestige of normalcy you may have, and you have to defend yourself against it in all it’s many aspects. Frankly, I think the state has become a vast unaccountable behemoth that has far exceeded capability to be reformed.
If there are then it is the black racists who had a contract out on his life and/or the security company charging upwards of $3,300/day -- and he was charged that for the days when he was in jail as well.
And all of this by "oral agreement" no less -- in otherwords, Zimmerman did not know what their service was really costing him until he got their bill -- and they were upset when he cut them off -- and at those prices I can understand why.
Many of us reached the same conclusion on the evening of November 6. I now consider myself a second class citizen in my own country and want as little to do with the government as possible. They consider me an enemy and the feeling is mutual. No amount of official corruption, malfeasance and looting of the public treasury is sufficient for the lapdog media to hold the current regime accountable. We are living in an occupied nation controlled by its enemies.

And...what company provides tens of thousands of dollars in services without a written and signed contract?
Apparently AIS was engaged in a short term rip off charging $66,000 for 21 days, even charging for days when he was in jail.
And when the charges for those days are removed and it drops down to $40,000, they have the audacity to sue for payment for services that they didn’t perform.
They were charging $3,300 a day??? — for what???? — and now they have security provided at circa $100/day???
A thinking judge should throw this lawsuit out before O’Mara deposes the principals and makes fools out of them.
He was a Barny Fife wanna be looking for trouble. Looks like he found himself a lifetimes worth. Be careful what you wish for.
