Records from the city clerk's office show she missed five of 16 City Council meetings this year. She made it to four committee meetings out of 72.

Four of 72.

Last year, she made it to all but two council meetings, according to attendance records. But from May 2011, when Mayor Rahm Emanuel reshuffled committee assignments, through December 2011, she missed 34 committee meetings out of 38. That was the year before her husband's hospitalization.

Turns out Ald. Jackson's chronic absenteeism isn't unique. Many aldermen have spotty attendance records at committee meetings. And that's where the work gets done. The idea that Chicago aldermen, who earn more than $100,000 a year, can show up for monthly council meetings, pancake breakfasts and fundraising parties but skip the bread-and-butter committee work is disturbing.

Count us among those with what Jackson calls "some angst" and we would call "some envy." Who else can skip this much work and still get paid?

I’m chairperson of our local zoning commission.

I get paid $20 per meeting.

I missed 1 meeting...when I had open heart surgery the week before. Next month I was back on the job.

And I sure don’t do it for the pay...

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emauel danced into the Chick-Fil-A controversy after Alderman Proco Joe Moreno (1st ward) publicly announced his opposition to Chick-Fil-A opening in his ward.

Mayor Rham chuckled while doing a graceful plie: "It's easy to do business in Chicago when you know 'the rules.' Chick-Fil-A can open in our town as long as it adopts 'Chicago Values.' "

(1) weekly cash pay off to the Alderman;

(2) hire six of the Alderman's friends who work only random days of the month,

(3) BIG AL from the Mayor's office picks up all cash in brown paper bags at CFA's back door,

(4) Chick Fil A staff trained by Chi/cops to shoot 10-12 customers per month,

(5) Any CFA customers actually killed must be registered to vote as Democrats,

(6) $100,00 campaign contribution to Obama,

(7) free food to Jesse Jackson, Jr, who was "convalescing," b/c he screwed up buying Obama's Senate seat.

Chicago Alderman Proco Joe announced that he had personally negotiated a Chick-fil-A agreement that allows CFA to stop supporting "antigay organizations."

"I demanded Chick-Fil-A add hot sauce to its chicken
sandwiches, and include a side of watermelon salsa,"
said Chicago Alderman Proco Joe Moreno.
